Panic Room
'Panic Room' was an out-and-out thriller. The story follows a single mother (Jodie Foster) and her daughter as they hide in a safe room of their new house, away from criminals bent on finding a missing fortune.

Zodiac
'Zodiac' was an adaptation of Robert Graysmith's book about the hunt for the Zodiac ****er. The film starred Jake Gyllenhaal and Robert Downey in the lead. This was Fincher's first film to be shot digitally. The film not receiving an Academy Award nomination reportedly came as a disappointment to the cast and crew.

The Curious Case of Benjamin ****on
Fincher once again chose Brad Pitt to fill the shoes of the lead in his film. 'The Curious Case of Benjamin ****on' is an adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's short story of the same name. The budget for the film was estimated at $150 million, partly due to the CGI effects used to reverse the aging in Brad Pitt's character. At the 81st Academy Awards, the film received 13 nominations

The Social Network
Once again, Fincher based his film on a book - 'The Accidental Billionaires'. The film that has a very young cast was based on the legal battles of Mark Zuckerberg and the founding of Facebook. The film released to critical acclaim and won several awards at this year's Golden Globe Awards. Fincher won the Golden Globe in the Best Director category. The film has been nominated in 8 categories at the Oscars. Interestingly, during his acceptance speech after winning his Golden Globe, Fincher thanked Mark Zuckerberg as well.

'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo'
Daniel Craig and Rooney Mara join Fincher in this thriller that has been based on an award-winning Swedish crime novel (also made into a Swedish film). Apparently earlier, Hollywood actor Carrey Mulligan was being considered for the role, but Fincher wanted to cast an unknown face for the role of Lisbeth Salander, the female lead of the film. Interestingly, Fincher was also considering Brad Pitt to play the male lead but settled for Daniel Craig eventually.
