Default Gaurav Chopra to torment Ronit Roy in Adaalat

Sony ropes in Gaurav Chopra to give better opposition to Ronit Roy in Adaalat as the show goes biweekly from 18th June

Tellybuzz was the first to break about Sony TV's Aadalat going biweekly with a major episode by mid June. We had also reported that about Mohnish Behl to be part of the show.

But the latest we hear is that, Mohnish Behl will not be a part of the show due to some unavoidable reasons and the character will now be portrayed by Gaurav Chopra.

Gaurav Chopra is all set to enter SET( Sony Entertainment Television), court room drama Adaalat. His character's debut on the 18h June will mark the beginning of a new phase in this Contiloe Films produced show, i.e. it goes bi-weekly.

Gaurav confirmed his entry saying" In the coming episodes, KD Pathak( Ronit Roy) will be charged with ****** and he will defend himself. He has a double role in this story (Tellybuzz had already reported this), I play the opposing public prosecutor. "

Describing his character in detail, Gaurav says,"Vishwajeet Ranawat just like KD has never lost a case in his career and hence will be a proper foil to KD." He refused to speculate on how the case will end saying," If I tell you everything now, why will you watch it!" It is but obvious that you will lose for KD can't go to jail right? "More than the verdict, what is interesting is the journey of the case; you will thoroughly enjoy the battle of wits, our characters engage in. Vishwajeet Ranawat will sport long hair and will be very quirky in repartee."

Gaurav adds ,"This above case will be used as foundation to set up a new character and depending on audience feedback, Vishwajeet Ranawat can be brought back in future episodes."

He also is full of praise of Ronit saying," He is a very good actor and it has been a pleasure working with him. We work out every scene detailing the level of intensity required." He also feel that the show is doing quite well on the ratings front, "Adaalat has not dropped some much in face of IPL (Indian Premier League), this is an achievement given that both attract the same male audience ."

The production house keeps changing the public proscuter opposite KD, the show began with new comer Tina Chaudhary (Maya Phadnis), then Sayantani Ghosh entered as Pranali. Rupali Ganguly had also done a cameo appearance. Sayantani says, "Pranali is also a part of the above case with Vishwajeet. I too had entered as part of two hour celebrity special and was retained as the audience liked my work. " She did not comment on whether Gaurav would replace her, if his character clicks.

A source quipped that, "This change was needed for two reasons; firstly it keeps the show fresh, and secondly, a better performer always helps to raise the bar."
