Many shows have a great launch and first season, but their true test is how they do in their subsequent seasons. Here’s a look at some shows that have come back on air in new seasons and what clicks and what doesn’t.


Khatron Ke Khiladi 2

The first season was good and the second is better. The participants do the craziest stunts to win a prize. But the inherent quality of the shows is to see if person has the willpower and strength to survive each task. Host Akshay Kumar always warns viewers to not perform the stunts at home.

The second season is similar to the AXN series Who Dares Wins, and seems a bit uninteresting. And why only girls, are the guys not ready to face dangers?

Aap Ki Kacheri

Dr Kiran Bedi dispenses justice to the common man in civil disputes. After the first season did well and received a pat on the back, the second season is now on air. But it remains to be seen if people will continue to watch a programme that educates rather than entertain. But the show is nevertheless doing good work and helping people in need

Season two started with Baby’s wedding plans and her bidaai, which is something all serials seem to include when they want to hike up TRP ratings. The show’s strength in the past has been a simple storyline and situations with real solutions. We hope it stays the same this time around.

This show is worth watching because of Salman Khan, though we hear he has taken a paycut to host this season. But, the fact remains that the questions are weird and the game’s rules are a bit confusing. Every question and answer is based on percentages, which is all rather too vague. But even then, you can just watch Salman being his funny, friendly self.

The first season showcased real talent from across the nation, as people travelled from all corners of India to put on a show. Though season one just ended, we are waiting excitedly for season two to see what all exists out there.
