Default In pics: Oscar's worst looking best actors

Super talented....but not so super looking?

You don't have to be drop-dead gorgeous to win an Oscar Best Actor Award. Sheer talent and hard work have compensated for lack of stunning good looks for some of these actors.

Emil Jannings
Emil Jannings was a German actor. He was not only the first actor to win the Academy Award for Best Actor, but also the first person to be presented an Oscar. He won it in 1928 for 'The Last Command' as Gen. Dolgorucki/Grand Duke Sergius Alexander.
