Ragini MMS is an upcoming 2011 Bollywood horror/thriller film. The film revolves around a nude video taken of a girl named Ragini. It is produced by Ekta Kapoor, who produced critically acclaimed films Love *** aur Dhokha and Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai. It is also produced by her mother, Shobha Kapoor. It is slated for release on Friday the thirteenth of May


Synopsis

It features a passionate story of an ambitious, handsome boy and a beautiful girl who elope to have some private and romantic time on a weekend. They go to a house and are oblivious of the fact that the house has installed hidden cameras at its every corner. All their private moments which they thought were shared only by the duo and to be kept secret by them alone are captured on the cameras. These private pictures unveil something unheard of and unacceptable to normal humans. That is where the paranormal behavior is brought into focus. There is love and scandal in the story but the focus is not on the romantic moments but on the unacceptably weird behavior behind the doors of the house.

Production

The film was originally titled "Raginni MMS" but a numerologist advised Ekta Kapoor to change it to "Ragini MMS". The film only took 25 days to shoot.

Ekta Kapoor is readying her next venture, tentatively titled Raggini MMS the movie is going to be a horror flick with Kangana Ranaut playing the lead. After ruling small screen for years with her saas-bahu soaps, Ekta Kapoor ventured into film production and went on to make films like Love *** Aur Dhokha. Now she is excited over a couple’s paranormal experience and will make a horror film based on it. When a real life couple approached her with a video tape that showed the girl possessed by something paranormal during their lovemaking session, Ekta was convinced of making a film on it. The movie is named Raggini MMS and is going to be a horror flick. As per reports, Ekta has even bought the rights of the video which the couple had accidentally made and will announce the film on Bigg Boss show in the presence of the host Salman Khan. It’s learnt that the script is ready and the film will be unlike any overtly dramatic Bollywood horror movie. Actress Kangana Ranaut has been approached for the film because it’s going to be a psychological spine-chiller, and who better than Kangana to do it. We wonder if is Ekta trying to remake Paranormal Activity!

In her Love, *** Aur Dhokha, Ekta Kapoor showed a man having no qualms taping his girlfriend during an act of ***ual intimacy and then selling the clip for money. This time, she is going a step higher.



Her next film's plot too revolves around *** MMS. It's inspired by the 2004 DPS school's *** scandal, in which a girl was caught on camera during a ***ual act and the video was made into a **** film that was circulated widely on the internet as well as roadside pirated CD vendors.

A top trade source close to the development of the movie reveals, "There will be enough clear references to suggest that it is the same *** scandal that Ekta is referring to. We are not too sure whether they will be bold enough to clearly announce that it is the DPS scandal as it might lead them to legal complications. We also hear that Ekta is planning to introduce a horror element in the film." Titled Raginni MMS, the movie will go on floors in December. When contacted, Ekta said it is a sensuous paranormal thriller that will be shot much like the acclaimed Paranormal Activity.

"It is definitely based on a *** scandal but it would not be entirely true to say that it is the DPS MMS that we are talking about. As of now, we don't want to talk much about the project as plans are still being firmed up and we are getting into casting." She added, "It is again based on a real life incident about an MMS gone wrong. However, it has a horror quotient to it as we have got a person whose MMS lands her into unforeseen horrors."
