Default Virender Sehwag out for 293, misses 3rd Triple Hundred in Test Cricket

Mumbai: Breaking News! Millions of cricket fans in India were heartbroken, when Virender Sehwag offered a simple catch to Muttiah Muralitharan in Mumbai Test. With this, Sehwag lost the chance to become the first batsman in test cricket to hit three triple hundreds. Sehwag was out for 293, seven short of a milestone and history.

Only Sir Don Bradman and Virender Sehwag have scored two triple centuries each in test cricket. Sehwag needed just 16 runs this morning. He added 9 runs to his total, but was deceived by Murali and gave a simple catch at 293. Murali picked up the catch in second attempt and it was all over.

The crowd in Mumbai and all cricket lovers in the country gave a standing ovation to Sehwag, as he departed at 293. He scored those runs off just 254 balls with 40 boundaries and 7 sixes. India are 494/3 in the first innings in reply to Sri Lanka's first innings total of 393. Dravid was out for 74. Sachin Tendulkar is bating on 29.
