Sony and Endemol India will together come up with a fiction show titled Chajje Chajje Ka Pyaar soon..


Sony Entertainment Television has now joined hands with Endemol India to launch a new fiction show titled 'Chajje Chajje Ka Pyaar'. The show will launch sometime in the beginning of March.

Our source states, "Vivek Mushran and Ritu Vij will play a couple in the show. The elderly cast of the family will comprise of Virendra Saxena and Alka Amin of 12/24 Karol Bagh fame. Mazher Sayed will essay the eldest brother and Anirudh Singh of Khwaish fame will play the middle brother. Fresh face Manish, who has done few ads, has been roped in to play the male lead in the show; he will be the youngest brother in the family. The production house is still looking for an apt face to portray the female lead".

"The show which is set in Delhi is about two neighbours who stay in one house and the two patriarchs are very close to each other and are bosom friends. They have this habit of fighting in the morning, only to make up by the end of the day. The male lead belongs to one family while the girl belongs to the other, and will grow on when the two fall in love", adds our source.

When contacted, Vivek Mushran told us, "Talks are on, but nothing is decided yet".

Mazher Sayed too denied that he has been confirmed for the show, and said that he is working out things.

About the Show »

Based in Delhi, this story deals with two families, the Sehgal’s and the Tripathiis, living under the same roof as owners and tenants…. There are various colorful characters sharing different emotions and bonds of friendship, animosity, love, hate, conspiracy, trust and respect.

The story starts with Ginni and Dhruv love hate relationship and the bonding that is shared by the two families. Dhruv’s youngest sister Megha is getting married and there is a festive atmosphere in the house. At the sangeet ceremony Dimpy (Ginni’s elder sister) and Daksh (Dhruv’s elder brother) perform on a song, and their chemistry forces the fathers to contemplate getting the two married. Will the ever-fighting wives of the house agree to this? Does fate have something else in store for Dimpy and Daksh? Will Ginni and Dhruv ever fall in love?

She is a fun filled 70 yr old who is full of life and humor. She stands up for her children in all circumstances. She always comes as a surprise package. In spite of her age she does not believe that she is old. She is truly young at heart and always makes it a point to mingle with every member of the family regardless of the age differences. Daadi, in a way, is the most liberated and modern character of the house.

Daksh Tripathi

Age: 25 years Profession: Lawyer A highly ambitious man, who wants to touch the sky. A good son, and an extremely good student throughout his life and that makes him the most eligible bachelor. His father has high hopes for Daksh and he is respected and equally loved by the Sehgals because of his achievements but also his personal conduct - non controversial, intelligent, diplomatic, soft spoken man with a highly focused mind.

Dhairya Tripathi

Age: 27 years Profession: Bank executive A simple, truthful and an honest man, who knows how to manage life in the little income that he makes as an executive. He hands over half of his salary to his father, keeps 25% for himself and gives the rest to his wife. Dhairya does not interfere much in the family chaos and mostly keeps to himself. But he is forced by his ever demanding wife to fall into little spats with his mother. During the crisis, he is always with what the family decides.
