Esha Deol turns down an offer from Yash Raj
You may be thinking that first of all Esha has no good offers in hand and when she was offered a role by Yash Raj, how could she not take it up? Well, let us tell you that she wasn’t offered a film by Yash Raj, but instead a TV show titled Powder
Anyway, did you know that Yash Raj TV (YRT) is coming up with four more shows on Sony this month? The YRT line-up consists of a reality show - Lift Kara De, hosted by Karan Johar, that’s already on air. Apart from this, the line-up consists of four fictions including, Mahi Way, Powder, Seven and Risha.com. If you’re a die-hard fan of Sony Television, you must be aware of the fact that Sony has been telecasting CID more than any other shows for the past few months and we totally understand how bugging this must be for you. But we’re sure you must be happy now, after getting to know about 4 new fiction shows coming up by YRT. Getting back to Powder that Esha was approached for, it’s said to be a thriller serial based on the narcotic trade in Mumbai. In other words, it’s a mafia story with a bit of interesting gender deconstruction material. The show basically aims at breaking the notion that crime and police are not fields meant for women. Hmm….the concept sounds pretty interesting, doesn’t it? We guess, Esha refused to do the show because she has no plans of entering the small screen. Obviously, wouldn’t that be a demotion for her? Well, may be that’s what she thinks. Another reason could be that she’s waiting for the right kind of role for her. Well, well, she’s just been waiting for the last 4-5 years, ever since Dhoom released. Gosh! Looks like she’s really choosy when it comes to selecting a role in films, haan! Anyway, no matter what the reason, we’re telling you Esha, it’s high time you stop acting pricey and being choosy about your roles or you’ll soon have to say good-bye to Bollywood and continue doing dance shows with your mom. |
