Ant and Dec named UK TV's favourite duo | Britain's Got Talent 2018, I'm A Celebrity 2017
Ads
Ant and Dec have been named UK TV's favourite duo in a new poll. Having spent nearly 30 years presenting side by side on some of the UK’s biggest TV shows, we're not really surprised. A survey carried out by Premier Inn shows that This Morning’s Phil and Holly came in close second and ex-Bake Off’s Mel and Sue took bronze position as the UK polled their favourite work couples. However, it’s not just presenters making it into the top five as Simon Pegg and Nick Frost as well as Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen snuck into fourth and fifth position after their iconic duo roles on the big screen. UK's favourite TV couples 1. Ant & Dec (31%) 2. Philip Schofield and Holly Willoughby (24%) 3. Mel & Sue (13%) 4. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost (11%) 5. Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen (8%) Meanwhile, it's been revealed that it’s not just celebrities who tend to have a close pal at work. The survey revealed that most of us now spend more time per year with our colleagues than our best friends, parents, siblings and even partner. Supposedly, we spend so much time together that having a work buddy is the ultimate office new status symbol with two thirds of Brits (67%) revealing they spend time with their colleagues regularly in evenings and weekends and a quarter introducing colleagues to their ‘real’ family and friends. And as for the secrets of a long term friendship - just like Ant and Dec's - they include having fun on work trips (18%), knowing how you take your tea (14%), listens to your dating disasters (22%), has your back in meetings (21%), covering for each other when running late (22%) and always having someone to go to lunch with (21%). Emily Frank from Premier Inn commented: “We spend more time at work than anywhere else consequently, we know our work colleagues better than almost anyone. When you're with someone for eight hours every day, five days a week, you know the 'real' person. "From saying thank you for yet another cuppa before 10am to psyching you up right before your yearly review and nudging you to wake up during that three hour long presentation, we all have that one person in our lives that knows us better than our own family and friends.” Similar Threads:
