TV Show is about:
Hero Honda - Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar is the 4th installment of the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Challenge series which premiered on 13 August 2010 on Zee TV. This series is hosted by Manish Paul, although the first shows were hosted by Purab Kohli. The mentors during this season are Daler Mehndi, Vishal-Shekhar (Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani) and Sajid-Wajid (Sajid Ali and Wajid Ali).

History:
The biggest singing platform Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa returns back with a new season in a new avatar with a quest to give India a ‘Singing Superstar’. This Singing Superstar promises to be a complete performer with a unique voice and style and can keep millions entertained. This season too will provide the viewers the chance to select their ‘Singing Superstar’. And for the very first time, the audience will witness how SRGMP auditions are conducted and how the show nurtures the ‘Best of the Talent’ to compete with each other. Auditions have been conducted across India and abroad to carefully choose singers with phenomenal talent and potential to become India’s ‘Music Ki Nayi Awaaz’.

Host & Judges:
Vishal-Shekhar, Daler Mehndi and Sajid-Wajid are the mentors who will nurture the talent throughout the season. Purab Kohli will anchor the show.

India has chosen its Singing Superstar. Zee TV’sHero HondaSa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar – the Mecca of soulful singing witnessed a extraordinary night replete with glitz, glamour and Christmas festivities! As cool winds blew around the Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai – the venue of the Grand Finale - the evening saw the who’s who of the music industry making their presence felt at the biggest musical event which declared Kamal – the Singing Superstar of India!

The nineteen-week series of fierce competition between contestants belonging to various regions culminated in a magnificent star studded Grand Finale. The final battle between Kamal, Abhilasha and Bisakh, saw Kamal emerge as the winner of Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar while Abhilasha Chellum and Bisakh Jyoti remained first and second runner up respectively. Kamal walked away with a newly launched Grande MK II Car and a Hero Honda ZMR Bike. All the 3 finalists also got a one year Scholarship at A R Rehman’s K M Music Conservatory in Chennai to learn music. Kamal walked away with Samsung LED TV’s as well while Bisakh and Abhilasha got Samsung home theatre.

Sa Re Ga Ma Pa is a pioneer in creating musical excellence and setting a unprecedented benchmark on Indian television space for the past 15 years. This edition also proved that India is a powerhouse of young talent waiting to get that ideal platform to showcase their s**** and competence. The Grand Finale was telecast LIVE on Zee TV on a wonderful Christmas evening of 2010.

This Friday, its celebration time for Rishi and Neetu Kapoor's family as the golden couple of the 70s are making a comeback in Do Dooni Chaar. Mummy Papa followed their son's footsteps and came to the sets of Zee TV's Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar to promote their upcoming movie. Besides the film promotion, Neetu Singh also had some vested interest in visiting the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa sets.

Rishi and Neetu Kapoor were brimming with joy when they entered the sets to be surprised by the unit, who were all dressed like the Hippies of the 70s. It was reliving the past on the sets of Saregamapa for Rishi Kapoor. Known for his lover boy roles and romancing young heroines including wife Neetu Singh, Rishi Kapoor was thrilled to see everyone including the mentors dressed in typical 70s style. Special mention of Shekhar who came close to looking like Rishi Kapoor's character Monty from the movie Karz.

The theme of the evening was "Duet songs from the 70s" which added to the excitement of the Kapoors. Abhilasha is a Nineties kid but her parents are apparently huge fans of Rishi Kapoor and she had a special request for him ' to play the dafli. A little known secret of Rishi Ji came out in the open that he can actually play the "Dafli" very well.

Khurram requested Rishi Kapoor to sing "Parda Hai Parda" from the movie "Amar Akbar Anthony" and to everybodys surprise, Rishi agreed in a jiffy. Being a diehard romantic, the charismatic actor went on stage wore the quawwali topi and sang the song holding flowers in his hand. It was indeed a very sweet moment for everyone especially Neetu Kapoor, who felt special being wooed after 30 years.

Now for Neetu Kapoor's hidden agenda of coming to the sets ' She wanted to meet Rini Chandra, the girl whom Ranbir Kapoor had tied the knot with last week. It was "Mooh Dikhai" time for Rini in front of her "Saas". Neetu ji gave Rini a token amount as blessing, adding to the fun on the sets.

When a well known tough guy like apna Sanju Baba gets overwhelmed and emotional, EVERYONE sits up and takes notice. The contestants, judges & audience of Zee TV's Hero Honda Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Singing Superstar were dumbfounded when they got a peek at the softer side of Sanjay Dutt as he made an appearance on the show.

Toughie though he may be, Sanjay Dutt was visibly moved to tears by Kamal's version of popular rock band Fuzon's track 'Kadiyaan Mil Sawan' and Ranjeet Rajwada's performance of 'Chitthi Aayi Hai' from one of Dutt's early films.

The episode also had many light moments as well with music composer & director Shekhar bringing to the fore the musical side of this strapping dad to be. The audience was treated to Sanjay Dutt singing along to Tez Dhaar from his movie Musafir.

The highlight of the evening was to see the five mentors doing push-ups together. The young and lean Ranjeet Rajwada after his perfomance asked our Sanju Baba for tips on how to put on weight. Ranjeet had been facing difficulties in gaining weight despite eating everything.

A smiling Dutt showed him an easy method by putting all five mentors on the spot and asking them to do push-ups with him. With all five mentors on the brink of exhaustion by the end of it, cheeky Shekhar was overheard saying – "Ye duniya me ek hi show hoga jaha judges ko task pe lagate ho!"

On the show to promote his upcoming film Knockout, Sanju Baba temporarily set aside his Gandhigiri with a threat to 'Knockout' the judges if they dared give any of the contestants negative remarks!

Now after singing, dancing, push –ups and Gandhigiri on sets, that is what we call a KNOCKOUT special!! *Wink*
