2.0 movie review: Akshay Kumar-Rajinikanth's VFX-fest delivers a climax that is worth the price of your movie ticket

Captain of the ship Shankar deserves all the credit

There are movies that you think twice before making a decision to buy that ticket and then there are movies with superstar Rajnikanth where this dilemma doesn’t happen. Rajinikanth has his own legacy of films and fans across the world who await the release of his new ventures with bated breath and if the project is with visionary director Shankar then the combination is deadly!

Kedarnath movie review: Sara Ali Khan's sparkling debut performance in the Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer promises she is here to stay

Here's our full movie review of Kedarnath...

When it comes to natural disaster dramas, Bollywood really has nothing much worth writing home about. Attribute it to the fact that we see cinema as an escape from reality rather than something that rivets. But we sure were partial towards Titanic and from the trailer, Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan-starrer Kedarnath seemed to have all the makings of a passionate love story between star-crossed lovers. But does it manage to reach that scale of becoming a timeless romance or does it fall short? Let's find out…

Zero movie review: Katrina Kaif is a scene-stealer in this Shah Rukh Khan, Anushka Sharma-starrer that has its heart in the right place but struggles with execution

A man's stature is known by his character and not his height. This perhaps might be one of the most used lines in daily conversation but it has a special significance in Aanand L Rai's most ambitious offering titled Zero. The fact that the country's biggest superstar is playing the shortest character, that of a vertically challenged man, in itself is an idea that sounds extraordinary. Aanand L Rai is famous for creating conversations and characters that linger long after the film ends and with Zero, he gets his biggest canvas yet.

Simmba movie review: With whistle-worthy action sequences and explosive dialogues, Ranveer Singh-Rohit Shetty's year-end treat will make you wish they had collaborated sooner

We have come to associate directors with their signature style of filmmaking. Karan Johar is known for his larger-than-life themes, Sanjay Leela Bhansali delivers opulent dramas, Imtiaz Ali has the pulse on modern romances and Aanand L Rai is the master of telling the most ordinary stories, extraordinarily. Similarly Rohit Shetty is known for entertainers, with a lot of action and comedy thrown in the mix. What's interesting this time around is that he has company in Ranveer Singh, who personifies entertainment. The film sounds promising right from the word go. So it is with great excitement that I go for a press screening of the film and here's what I thought of it...

Anyone who has watched The Lion King, would first think of the cute little lion cub from the film when thinking of Simmba. Not anymore. Ranveer Singh is here to steal the name and also the roar. Simmba provides complete bang for your buck. But it will also make you rue all the years Rohit Shetty and Ranveer Singh have wasted without collaborating. And it will make you wish they come together again and soon. Simmba will ensure you end the year on a high. Watch it with your family and ideally in a single-screen theatre for the complete experience.
