Terrorism
While there have been several movies centred around terrorism, 'A Wednesday' got rave reviews for being a film that made some hard-hitting statements against terrorism. The film also touched upon the inability of the police to track down that one person who posed terrorist threat to the city of Mumbai.

Drug abuse

Feudal system
Directed by Priyadarshan, 'Virasat' saw some excellent acting by Anil Kapoor and Tabu. The film spoke about the caste system in the country.

'Summer 2007' that saw Sikander Kher make his debut in Bollywood is about a group of medical interns who go to a village to provide the locals with medical help. Here, they discover the lack of medical infrastructure and also have to deal with the issue of farmer suicides.
