Default Other Uses of an Ad Tracking Program

Previously we talked about how you can use an ad tracking program to monitor and improve your advertising and marketing campaigns. This article is going to cover other ways that ad tracking programs can be useful.

1. Ad tracking programs can keep your business moving forward. An affiliate link will usually contain a number that is attached to the end of a URL.

For whatever reason there are a lot of people that take pleasure in ripping others from their affiliate commissions by deleting the affiliate number. But, an ad tracking link will prevent this from happening.

Website owners also face the threat of piracy. There are webmasters that will steal the HTML source code of one of your web pages and use it to make an identical page of their own.

If you have a resource page with outgoing links, thieves will save yourself a lot of effort by copy and pasting it to their own site.

If all of those links are tracking links, you'll be able to see that clicks on your tracking links are coming from a different website than your own. If that happens, you should contact the website owner and demand that they remove the page from their website.

Ad tracking URL's can also be used with PPC advertising because you can compare stats against those of the PPC service that you are using. In particular, you will be able to detect suspicious activities such as multiple

clicking on your ads which is usually done by hostile fraudsters who want to price you out of the market by making you pay more than you should. You have to pay the PPC company every time your ad is clicked.

However, if you are using tracking links, you will be able to see that the repeated clicks are coming from the same source. Contact the PPC company if you ever see this happening.

2. Ad tracking programs can protect you against changes and developments in your business.

You should always track your links using an ad tracker. This way if you drop on of your web pages, you can just redirect the tracking link to a new page with the help of your ad tracking control panel.

This will save you a lot of time and hassle. Likewise, you can do this when you change affiliate products or programs as well.

This means that you can promote your tracking links and not worry about whether things will change in the future. However, if you insist on promoting your original URLs, they will continue to hang around the

Internet and in people's inboxes long after the page they are linking to have ceased to exist. This can be a bad thing and hurt your online business a lot.

3. Tracking links can also allow you to disguise the identity of your website. This is handy if you want to promote something without revealing your identity or website. But, once the tracking link is clicked, the person will see your website show up in the browser window.

4. Tracking URLs are usually shorter than a regular affiliate URL, and sometimes even your website URLs. It can be helpful to have a shorter, more attractive link. Of course, this will be tracking link.

5. Ad tracking programs can tell you a lot about your visitors' movements.

Tracking links will help you see where people go when they arrive on your website. These stats usually include a timestamp, so you will be able to follow the path your visitors take through your site and this will tell you which links are attractive to them and which are not.

If you make a couple of similar web pages with just one element of difference between them, use ad trackers to track every link (with a different set of tracking links on each page), and load the two pages onto a rotator, you will be able to test which format is more popular with your visitors.v

The time stamp will allow you to monitor your ads to see whether they have been submitted and removed at the right time or indeed, whether they are being shown at all.

6. Earn commissions from your ad tracking program. The idea of making some money from your ad tracking program by joining its affiliate program is great. Most ad tracking programs do offer such a program. Do a little marketing, and you should be able to at least cover the cost of the program with monthly commissions you earn.
