 3 Idiots Chetan Bhagat accused the producers of film for taking his entire story and not giving him due credit and payments. Aamir retaliated to the comment saying that Chetan was trying to take the credit of the writer of the film, Abhijat Joshi. They called a press conference to clear their stand on the situation and Chetan ended apologising to Aamir later.

 Housefull The film ran into a series of copyright issues. Initially, Sajid Khan was accused for lifting the story from Tamil film producer P L Thenappan's, 'Kadhala Kadhala' starring Kamal Hassan. Sajid Nadiadwala later filed a case against Thenappan for extortion. The film also ran into trouble for using a popular song from the film 'Laawaris' without proper permission from the right person.

 Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai This Balaji film was initially touted as the story of Haji Mastan. Although, the production house later claimed that it was just a publicity stunt when a petition was signed against them by Haji Mastan's adopted son Suleiman Mirza. Later Mastan's daughter Shamshad Supariwala demanded to see the film prior to its release to make sure there was no wrong representation of her father in the film. Throughout the issue, Ekta Kapoor refused to comment on the situation.

 Raajneeti Prakash Jha's film ran into trouble when the Congress party workers claimed that Katrina's role was based on Sonia Gandhi and it would defame the leader's image. Jha however managed to get a clean chit from the court. The second trouble came around when producer Kamal R. Khan sent a notice to the director alleging that the title 'Raajneeti' belonged to him.

 Kurbaan The film ran into trouble with Shiv Sena objecting to Kareena's bare back posters. The political party sent Kareena a saree asking her to cover up. During a press conference, Saif Ali Khan stepped forward to defend Kareena. He stated that if a certain political party is offended with the poster they would certainly look into it. However, the censor board cleared the film with no issues.
