Default Audio Release of 'Victory'

  • Debutant director Ajitpal Mangat's 'Victory' is all set to release on 30th January,2009. But, as per the Bollywood ritual before the release comes the music launch. As said if music of the movie is hit 40% of the battle is won before the release and rest 60% success depends on the release of the film.

On 28th December,2008 the cast and crew of 'Victory' celebrated their music launch along with the media. Present at the 'Victory' music launch were film personalities like Amrita Rao, Ashutosh Gowariker and wife Sunita, filmmaker Prakash Jha, actor Tusshar Kapoor , Harry Baweja, singer Kailash Kher, and music director Anu Malik who has composed the music for this sports film. The Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh(Bhajji) was the chief guest for the event. Says Bhajji " Balla utha jhatka laga' is my favourite and it is something that I will be playing in my dressing room."

Further he adds "In India people are crazy about two things 'cricket' and 'Bollywood' and Victory is a film that will inspire every Indian kid to play cricket for India." Later he introduced the main lead of the film Vijay Shekhawat aka Harman Baweja. In his acclamation he says " Vijay is a better batsman than Brian Lara and thanks that I need not have to bowl for too long him."

Hurman shares a few words on his first meet with Bhajji in the film. He says " On their first meeting Bhajji asked me to bat while he bowls and if I play well, then I am in the team and I played a six on his ball". Further he edifies their coach who told them " That wearing of this Indian cricket team jersey is a great responsibility because expectation of 100 million Indians rests on these 11 cricket players."

About the music of the film he says " Basically its sport based film and music is has to be based on the same songs like 'Balla utha Jhatka lagaa' and 'Cricket Hamara Jivan Saara' are completely cricket anthems. Then there is a romantic song 'Tune re' and fun filled song 'Maza aa gaya'."

The music for the film is composed by Anu Malik while the lyrics are done by Syed Gulrez and Amitabh Verma.

Says Anu Malik "It was really difficult to compose a music for a sports film because it need to be motivational at the same time it needs to be catchy so it can rise to popularity.I have seen team India winning and losing and also I have seen a lot of ups and downs in my life. From all this I thought of the song 'Balla utha jhatka laga'. This song will be an instant hit it need not have to be played again and again to gear up."

He highlights the back drop of few tracks and says" Maza aa gaya' is a song which talk about a village guy who gets selected in the Indian cricket team and the whole village celebrates his success. While director Ajitpal explained me the situation for the song I remembered Dhoni as he was too a village boy and he got an opportunity to play for India. Then 'Money money' is about Vijay getting catapulted to super stardom.

I wanted to have a music different from today's atmosphere. Something that is a hit as original then further it can be remixed. There has been use of live orchestra, drums, strings, chorus. Back-up singers have done a good job and all play back singers have done a fabulous job."

When asked about Victory he says "There is nothing that taste better on tongue than the taste of Victory."

Amrita the leading lady in the movie says " She is proud to be part of a sport film. The movie is about dreams, hopes, aspirations, downfall and victory."

About the music she says " Music compliments sports.'Balla utha' is my favourite song.It boosts in a passion in you to go out there and challenge anybody who dares to defy you. Then I like romantic number 'Tune re', it shows a good chemistry between Vijay and Nandini. These days music empowers the lyrics. But in this song however the lyrics stand out and also the music is great."

Overall it was a successful event with the cast and crew of the film sharing their opinion on music and the film on a whole.

Default I am a great actor: Bhajji

Harbhajan Singh, who was present at the music launch of film Victory in Mumbai last night, hinted at a career in Bollywood. He said, "I am a great actor and if I come down to Bollywood and start acting, you can forget 'Ghajini and Rajni'." "If Ajit Pal wants then I could be the lead hero in Victory part 2," he added. Well, Aamir Khan now looks to have got competition, that too from a very unlikely candidate -- cricketer Harbhajan Singh.
The spinner, who makes a special appearance in the film, sportingly posed for the cameras at the launch.
Though Harman Baweja is the lead hero of the movie but it was Bhajji who stole the limelight.
On stage, Harman said, "Bhajji, why don't we make a film on you itself? I know in normal sense, a movie spans between 2-3 hours. But we can make a tele serial out of your life, thanks to the number of controversies."
Following this comment, Bhajji showed his sporting spirit and said, "Yes. I will leave behind the famous serial Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi also."
Victory follows the story of a father who witnesses an impossible dream for his son to play cricket for the Indian national team.
