Actors turned producers (Photos/Full Details)  Saif Ali Khan’s Love Aaj Kal Saif Ali Khan and Dinesh Vijan started the production company titled Illuminati Films and produced their first film ‘Love Aaj Kal’ starring Saif, Deepika Padukone and Rishi Kapoor. The movie did good business in the metros. And just recently, Vijan and Saif have parted ways. Saif is producing another film named ‘Agent Vinod’. The movie will star Saif and girlfriend, Kareena Kapoor in the lead roles and it is scheduled to release in May 2011.

 Akshay Kumar’s Khatta Meetha Akshay Kumar’s Hari Om Production produced its first film ‘Khatta Meetha’, starring Akki in July 2010. The movie’s story was based on the life of renowned cartoonist RK Lakshman. The film was a major disappointment in the national and international markets. Their next project, ‘Tees Maar Khan’ is all set to release on December 24. Ronnie Screwala and Shirish Kunder are the co-producers of the movie.

 Arbaaz Khan’s Dabangg 'Dabangg' opened to a first day net collection of a whopping 14.40 crores – the highest till date at the box office. The film has created a record of sorts. It earned Rs 48 crores, 6 crores more than ‘3 Idiots’ which collected 41 Crores in the opening weekend. His life partner Malaika Arora Khan also happens to be his partner in the production company. And they are now also planning to venture into TV.

 Sanjay Dutt’s Rascals Traditionally a lot of actors have grown into being producers. While some like Raj Kapoor proved to be fantastic, some burnt their hands in the process. We list out a few actors who turned producers.... Actor Sanjay Dutt makes his debut as a producer with the film titled 'Rascals' which is being directed by David Dhawan. The movie will cast Ajay Devgn, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt and Kangana Ranaut in the lead roles. The co-producers of the movie are Sanjay Ahluwalia and Vinay Choksey. It is said that this film will have a sizzling scene of Kangana in a bikini.

 Aamir Khan’s Lagaan Aamir Khan’s production debut, ‘Lagaan’ won him a nomination at the Oscars. He did not win but the movie directed by Ashutosh Gowariker was a huge success at the box-office. It is considered one of the cult films of its time. His recent film ‘Peepli Live’ also received critical acclaim. And now Aamir’s wife, Kiran Rao’s directoral debut ‘Dhobhi Ghat’ is also produced by Aamir Khan Productions scheduled to release in February.
