TOP Bollywood stars who made their debut on STAR
The trend of Bollywood actors turning to television began in 2000, when Hindi cinema’s living legend Amitabh Bachchan made his debut on the small screen. Ever since, the list has grown in size. We take a look at some of the Bollywood A-lister who made their foray in to television through STAR.
In the year 2000, STAR Plus roped in Amitabh Bachchan to host India's adaptation of the British television game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Kaun Banega Crorepati upped the brand value of Bachchan once again in Bollywood and helped STAR Plus became the undisputed No.1 channel. The show was abruptly ended after the superstar fell ill in 2006. Bachchan announced he would return after he recovered, but Shah Rukh Khan covered for him in 2007. |
