  • Reports claimed that the package A and B of the right which includes TV and Digital, has been sold for a whopping Rs 44,057 crore, something happening for the first time in Indian sports.
  • If reports of Free Press Journal are to be believed, Viacom claimed the digital rights while Sony won the TV rights on of the IPL media rights.
  • Though an official confirmation is still awaited, reports said that Sony won the TV rights for Rs 57.5 cr per game, while Viacom 18—owned by Reliance Industries—claimed the digital rights for Rs 50 cr per game.
  • Earlier on Friday, global retail giants Amazon had withdrew itself from the Indian Premier League media rights auction race.
  • IPL is set to earn Rs 105.5 crores per game, a record for 15-year-old league.
