World Water Day 2018: Know The Facts And Significance Of This Day
On March 22, every year we celebrate World Water Day to spread awareness across the world about the importance of water and why we need to save it. In the year 1993, the United Nations General Assembly designated March 22 as the first World Water Day. And this year we are going to celebrate 25th World Water Day. For World Water Day celebration, the main symbol is the shape of a blue colour water drop. And ‘Nature of Water’ is the theme for World Water Day 2018. The main aim of the theme is to explore exploring nature-based solutions to the water challenges we face in the 21st century. Today almost 2.1 billion people are living without safe drinking water. There is a water crisis in many parts of the world and thus, people are becoming ill, it is also affecting their livelihoods and education. So, we need to work on this problem soon to remove scarcity of water. The quantity and quality of water are getting affected due to the damaged ecosystem. Various NGOs, as well as the UN member states and agencies, is involved in the promotion of clean water conservation. The focus is to aware the people about the critical issues of water.
