Default Yesterday's big TV stars NOW struggling...(Spl. Post)

They became nationwide stars with their shows on TV but unfortunately, when it came to exploring territory outside of their hit small screen characters, their careers turned into black holes. Indya looks at the most popular actors from the recent past who are now struggling to establish themselves in today's changing television industry.

Sakshi Tanwar

Known as Parvati Bhabhi of Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Tanwar shone in her idealistic role. She became very popular but after the show ended last year, she was nowhere to be seen. Then, a few months ago she made a comeback with the movie Coffee House. She played a central character but the film did not do well. Now yet again, Sakshi is missing from both TV and films. She says, however, that she is currently working on another movie.

Smriti Irani

She was TV's supreme bahu, Tulsi from Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. She then tried her hand at production but her shows didn't fair well. She entered into politics but again, she was unlucky and could not win during the elections. Now, Smriti has decided to try her luck with comedy. Her show Maniben.com has started on SAB TV but although the concept of the show is refreshing, it doesn't seem to be translating into good ratings.

Iqbal Khan

He began his career with films, his first movie was Fun2shh. Iqbal then starred in many TV shows and struck gold with his rock star role in Kaisa Yeh Pyar Hai. When the show wrapped up, he starred in Waaris and hosted Asambhav Kya. However, neither show did any favours to Iqbal's faltering career.

Cezanne Khan

Cezanne had his female fans crazy for his character Anurag Basu in Kasauti Zindagi Kii. He left the show because he was not willing to play an elderly character when the serial was set to take a leap. He then starred in a show called Ek Ladki Anjaani Si which ended abruptly. Now Cezanne is doing Seeta Aur Geeta, in which he plays the role of Suraj, originally played by Sanjeev Kumar in the movie. However, the serial has not been getting good responses from viewers yet.

Aamna Sharif

TV's dream girl, Aamna's character Kashish from Kahin Toh Hoga made her a star. After her show was pulled off air, the actress did a show for a Pakistani channel. She also made her debut in Bollywood through the film Aloo Chaat. The film made a lot of news because of her close relationship with her costar Aftab Shivdasani. But the movie failed to get as much attention from the audience at the box office. Since, Aamna has been missing the big and small screen.
