Default Full Details - Colors Tu Aashiqui

Colors channel has an array of mega shows coming up which include the Arjun Bijlani-Aalisha Panwar starrer, Ishq Mein Marjawan and Harshad Chopda-Jennifer Winget starrer, Adhura Alvida.

And joining this list is the show, Tu Aashiqui which stars actors, Jannat Zubari Rahmani and newbie, Ritik in lead roles.

The promo of the show recently went on-air and here's what we thought about it-

What is it about?

With the strings of guitar begin the visuals of young boy who is performing a song with his band and begins to sing.

While, the boy seems like a rockstar, the lyrics mouthed by him go in sync with the parallel visuals as a young girl is shown baffled where her mother tears some important papers into pieces (presumably they are songs written by her) in front of her.

The song continues and later we see, the mother handing over a bride's attire to her daughter which is followed by a visual of the girl crying while she is dressed as a bride.

The voiceover at the end of the promo denotes how this saga is about how time has sealed the unfortunate fate of two individuals, but their love saga will be the key to their freedom.

What's Good?

There is one thing that the teaser does with novelty and that is staying true to its theme. What is touted to be a musical show cannot get more evident as the male protagonist, Ahaan (Ritik) is seen performing a rock song throughout the promo while the visuals of the female protagonist, Pankti play simultaneously.

Jannat Zubair Rahmani looks beautiful and vibrant as the female lead and successfully manages to cut through her child actress image. What makes things even better is watching actress, Gauri Pradhan Tejwani playing the mother to Jannat's character which has its own grey shades.

While the track is not entirely impressive, it does reflect the fact that the show will see some interesting original soundtracks, when the show actually goes on-air.

What's Not-So-Good?

While, the idea of having an all-music promo is brilliant, the biggest flaw of the promo is not justifying anything about the male lead. We can see a little journey of the female lead, but the male lead keeps on performing the song throughout without any dialogues.

The show is said to have been based on Aashiqui 2 and the promo seals the same. We do not want to see a story which falls into the been-there-seen-that' category and the marriage angle does seem to give that edge.

The Verdict

With a lukewarm soundtrack, compelling visuals and unique approach, Tu Aashiqui comes across a breath of fresh air which is undoubtedly a treat. The fact that such a youth-driven show has found its place on the channel is a feat in itself where Colors is usually known for massy dramas.
