MTV’s forthcoming fiction Engineer’s Diary

Last week Indya.com reported about MTV’s forthcoming fiction Engineer’s Diary to be produced by Endemol.

The show according to sources is youth based and focuses on the life of engineering students. The production house was hunting for faces apt to play the key characters and has now finalised four actors for the same. Shubh Mukherjee and Swati Taldar who were seen in Left Right Left, along with Jayshree, who was seen in Mc Donald’s advertisement.

Informs a source, “So far, we have finalised four actors for the show – Shubh Mukherjee, Swati Taldar, Jayshree and rookie actor Devansh. Engineer’s Diary is loosely based on Chetan Bhagat’s Five Point Someone and 3 Idiots. It is a story of seven engineering students - the academic pressure they go through and their bonding. The main lead of the show maintains a personal diary in which he writes down his daily experiences, thus the title.The show will launch sometime by the end of next month or the beginning of July.”

Confirming the news, Shubh Mukherjee says, “Yes, I am playing Ankit in the show who is a very simple guy. Swati Taldar plays the lead opposite me.”

Swati Taldar however, refused to comment and said, “This is not the right time and you must speak to the producers.”
