Best TOP 10 Poems EVER
Poetry Day is a celebration of poetry for everyone, everywhere. It’s a day when poetry takes to the streets. It’s a chance for you to use poetry to say things that can’t be said in prose. They mean an ocean of emotions and a way to express ourselves. Our Hindi movies rely so much on songs and poems, no hero can ever get the heroine if he doesn’t sing a romantic song or doesn’t mouth some sweet nothings in her ear. World Poetry Day is celebrated on 21 March, and was declared by UNESCO in 1999 during the 30th session held in Paris. Its purpose is to promote the reading, writing, publishing and teaching of poetry throughout the world and, as the original UNESCO declaration says, to “give fresh recognition and impetus to national, regional and international poetry movements”. It also agreed on the fact that poetry can help young people reconnect to their roots give them a different perception of how they look at their place in the world.
Poets are honored on this day and it is believed that through this celebration, poets and poems will find more prominence in today’s society. The day is also designated to find newer ways to make poetry accessible and not make it seem outdated. We have compiled a few lines from well-known and most loved poems of all times for you to fall in love with poetry. ‘Where the mind is without fear’ by Rabindranath Tagore ‘Ud ke jate huye panchi ne’ by Gulzar “The Road not Taken” by Robert Frost ‘Ab Agar Aao To Jane’ By Javed Akhtar ‘All the World’s a Stage’ By William Shakespeare Similar Threads:
