Aaj Tak bags best channel ITA award for 8th time

Popular Hindi news channel Aaj Tak made news once again on Sunday when it was awarded the best Hindi news channel at the Indian Television Academy ( ITA) Awards in Mumbai.

This is the eighth year in a row that Aaj Tak has bagged the coveted award. The channel run by the TV Today Network has managed to grab eyeballs, TRPs as well as awards since its launch on December 31, 2000. Organisers made a special reference to the Mumbai attack coverage by Aaj Tak and its sister channel Headlines Today.
One can judge the popularity of the channel simply by the fact that it has won the ITA awards ever since they were launched in 2001. Aaj Tak continues to maintain its leadership position in terms of credibility and viewership and has also been successfully launched in the US, UK and Europe.
Qamar Waheed Naqvi, news director of Aaj Tak, received the award on behalf of the channel and thanked the jury.
