Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has opened to a block buster average rating of 5.4 TVR which has propelled Sony Entertainment Television to a strong 3rd position among Hindi GECs.

While the first elimination on Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa came as a shocking surprise with the popular singer Anushka Manchanda getting out, this week will see yet another gorgeous lady bowing out of the competition.

The show will now miss the beautiful and captivating smile of Renuka Shahane and she is the second contestant to go out.

Our source states, "Renuka's historical performance in the get-up of Bajirao Mastani last week, did not appeal to the judges and junta declared her as the next evictee. With this ends the journey of Renuka and Jai Kumar Nair in the show".

The contestants were given the theme of 'Folk' this week and the beautiful ladies Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan were seen as celebrity guests. They were there to promote their film 'No One ****ed Jessica'.

Our source states, "Renuka was in the bottom two with Mahhi Vij. Ragini Khanna who has been giving average performances so far got her first 30 this week; her folk on a Tollywood number gave her the Best Performer of the Day Award. Ankita Lokhande danced on a Rajasthani folk number and was again appreciated by the judges. Daya Shetty and Vrushali did a Folk Bhangra, but the cop forgot few steps in between. Sushant Singh Rajput yet again proved his dancing caliber and got his second consecutive 30 as he did a Chao Folk dance. To top it all, he again won the Best Performer of the Day Award".

Big Star Entertainment Awards which was held yesterday in Mumbai was a soaring success...


Billed to be the first complete People's Choice Awards, Big Star Entertainment Awards brought about the amalgamation of Music, Movies, Television and Sports. The effort which was launched for the first time between Reliance Broadcast Network and Star India was held last night in Mumbai, and was graced by the who's who of the Bollywood industry. The show will be aired on 31st December on Star Plus.

Ragini Khanna, our very own Suhana of Sasural Genda Phool bagged the highest honour in the television category, as she was awarded with the 'Big Star Television Entertainer Award'.

Our source says, "Ragini Khanna bagged the Best TV Entertainer Award, while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was awarded the 'Best Bollywood Entertainer Award'. Big B aka Amitabh Bachchan was awarded with the 'Best Entertainer of the Decade' award. Dharmendra won the Big Star Entertainer for 50 years of glory".

We hear that Ashita Dhawan of Bidaai fame was the only face from the small screen to host the show. Arshad Warsi, Marathi mulga Shreyas Talpade, and Ayushmann Khurana were the main hosts for the event.

Our source adds on, "Akshay Kumar, Priyanka Chopra, Rani Mukherjee gave sensational performances on stage, while Vijendra Singh the boxer too grooved for a popular number. The popular Jodi of Veer and Tapasya (Nandish Sandhu and Rashmi Desai) also performed.

We contacted, Ragini Khanna to congratulate her, but she refused to comment.

Ashita Dhawan on her part said, "It was a pleasure be part of such a grand event, sharing stage with such great people".

Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa sees a shocking elimination in its very second week...


This season's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 4 - Dancing with the Stars has opened to great numbers with the first episode of Monday getting a TVR of 4.8 and the Tuesday's episode fetching a 5.1.

The show will see its first elimination in the coming Monday's episode wherein the energetic and bubbly Anushka Manchanda and her dance partner and choreographer Puneet will bow out.

Our source states, "Anushka's opening performance was very decent and the girl was full of energy. She had even got compliments from the judges. But unfortunately the junta thought otherwise and she bowed out due to lesser votes. The boxer Akhil Kumar and Ragini Khanna were in the bottom three along with the tall and lanky Anushka".

Elaborating on the performances coming this week, our source states, "Renuka Shahane and Jai Kumar Nair got the lowest marks this week. They performed to a Guzaarish number; they did Tango on the historical characters of Bajirao Mastani. The outfit was too heavy for Renuka to carry, and she did not look graceful at all. Daya Shetty and Vrushali's dancing style created a difference in judgment between the judges Remo and Malaika. The Performer of the Week for Monday was Sushant Singh Rajput while Yana Gupta took the honour in Tuesday's episode".

The inaugural episode of Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa will be a star-studded extravaganza for which preparations are on..


Sony's fresh season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa launches on December 13th, and the inaugural episode we believe, is going to be a grand and lavish affair. The channel has approached Cineyug Entertainment to produce the first episode of Jhalak. We hear that the start of this season will be star-filled with every contestant getting introduced in a song and dance format by popular names of both television and Bollywood industries.

We hear that all the 12 contestants are rehearsing for the grand opening, and there will be performances coming from the judges Madhuri Dixit, Malaika Arora Khan and Remo D'Souza.

Our source tells us, "Every contestant will be brought to the stage and given a warm welcome and introduction, and the honour of introducing them will be done by big names. Names that have been roped in include veteran actors Hema Malini, Dharmendra, Helen etc".

Elaborating on the Contestant and Celebrity list, our source informs us, "The introductory pairings will be like this – Mahhi Vij – Hema Malini, Ragini Khanna – Helen, Yana Gupta – Mika Mehndi, Renuka Shahane – Mohnish Behl, Shekhar Suman – Adhyayan Suman, Krushna Abhishek – Govinda, Meiyang Chang – Anushka Sharma, Akhil Kumar – Dharmendra, Daya Shetty – Akshay Kumar, Anushka Manchanda - Esha Deol, Ankita Lokhande, Sushant Singh Rajput will be introduced by the popular onscreen pair of Kinshuk Mahajan and Parul Chauhan".

We tried calling Mika, but he remained unavailable. Mohnish Behl on his part said, "I do not think we are allowed to discuss on this".

Meiyang Chang refused to comment and so did Daya Shetty and Ragini Khanna. Kinshuk and Parul had earlier confirmed to TellyBuzz that they will be seen in the introductory episode of Jhalak.

However, Shekhar Suman confirmed that he will be introduced by his son saying, "Yes it is absolutely true and Adhyayan and I are so excited about it. It's for the first time ever that we will be sharing screen space in an entertainment platform. The most exciting part is that he is singing his own songs from Raaz and I will be singing one of his chart busters from Jashn".

Mohammad Morani of Cineyug confirmed that they are producing the first episode of the Sony show. However he refused to talk further.

The contestants for the fourth season of Sony’s Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa revealed..



Sony's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has always succeeded in getting the eyeballs glued on screen with its stars and the duet performances of variant dance styles with professionals. In this season too, the show comes up with popular names from the industry.
The Jodi listings of the fourth season of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa are revealed by TellyBuzz and here comes the list.

Our close source tells us about the pairing, "Mahhi Vij (Laagi Tujhse Lagan fame) will be paired with Savio, vivacious actor Renuka Shahane will be seen with DID fame Jai Kumar Nair, Ankita Lokhande (Pavitra Rishta) will be paired with Nishant, Ragini Khanna (Sasural Genda Phool ) will tap her feet with Nirav, Puneet Pathak from DID will be paired with singer Anushka Manchanda, DID fame Vrushali will be dancing with cricketer Navjyot Singh Siddhu, DID's handsome hunk and winner Salman Khan will be paired with the Czech beauty Yana Gupta and finally Sushant Singh Rajput (Pavitra Rishta) will be paired with Shampa".


These are the confirmed pairings as of now, and the partners for Meiyang Chang, Shekar Suman, Krushna Abhishek and Akhil Kumar will be decided upon soon.


Tellybuzz had reported earlier that the production house had approached the dancing sisters Shakti and Mukti Mohan to host the show. There was also a buzz that Jay Bhanushali and Aayushman Khurana might host this season's Jhalak. But we hear that the channel is presently in talks with Rohit Roy who has hosted the show earlier.

The list confirms a tough competition between the teams and the blend of people from different grounds guarantees a mixture of fun and entertainment.
