More big names to be part of Star Plus' upcoming reality show; popular face Jennifer Winget to be the sole host of the show...


Star Plus and Reliance Big Productions' big ticket reality show Comedy Ka Maha Muqabla has been the talk of the industry for few weeks now!! With the promos of the four mentors Raveena Tandon, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade and Shekhar Suman already on air, the comedy reality show is all geared up for its launch on March 19th. It will be a biweekly, and will replace the ongoing reality Wife Bina Life.

TellyBuzz had already reported that there will be a total of 20 contestants participating in the show, with five contestants given to each mentor.

The big news coming out is of the sole anchor of the show.. We hear that Jennifer Winget who was last seen hosting Zara Nachke Dikha on Star Plus will be providing her special tadka as host in this comedy reality.

Our source states, "Jennifer is the favorite of Star when it comes to hosting a mega reality show. Apart from big names like Rashmi Desai, Aashka Goradia, the production house has roped in Arhaan Behll, Roshni Chopra, Parul Yadav and Supriya Pilgaonkar to participate in the reality show".

Among the stand up comedians, Sudesh Lahiri, Raju Shrivastav, Kapil Sharma, Rehman, Saloni Daini have been finalized.

Jennifer Winget confirmed the news saying, "Yes, I am hosting the show, and it feels good to be part of such a comedy reality show".

Supriya Pilgaonkar who is presently seen in Star's Sasural Genda Phool confirmed her presence, but refused to talk further.

Parul Yadav refused to comment while Roshni Chopra was unavailable for a comment.

Arhaan Behll, the protagonist of Star's Pratigya said, "Talks are on, but I can't tell anything now".

Comedy Ka Mahamuqabla will be a long running reality show, and is expected to go on for nearly three months.. If sources are to be believed, the first episode of the show has already been shot; noted actors Ritesh Deshmukh and Tusshar Kapoor hosted the Special Curtain Raiser episode..

Star Plus' upcoming big ticket reality show, Comedy Ka Maha Muqabla has already roped in some big names to head the four teams in the show..

Raveena Tandon,
Arshad Warsi,
Shekhar Suman and
Shreyas Talpade will be the mentors.

We hear that the teams will have a mix of television actors and stand-up comedians. Of all, there will be 20 contestants seen in the show.

The latest is that big names like Rashmi Desai and Aashka Goradia will be part of the show. Among the comedians, Sudesh Lahiri, Raju Shrivastav, Kapil Sharma and Salini Daini have been finalized. Actors Pooja Gor and Jay Soni have also been approached.

Our source states, "Rashmi Desai of Uttaran fame and Aashka Goradia, the vamp in Laagi Tujhse Lagan have already given their nod".

We tried calling both Aashka and Rashmi, but both were unavailable.

This comedy show will be produced by Reliance Big Productions.

The Buzz in the town is about a new reality show on Star Plus, tentatively titled Comedy Ka Maha Muqabla, produced by Reliance Big Productions. The show is a comedy reality show, with a unique concept. Big names that were touted to be part of the show were Arshad Warsi, Raveena Tandon, Boman Irani and Sohail Khan.

The latest we hear is that Shekhar Suman, who was recently seen in Sony TV's Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa as a participant has joined the team as one of the mentors.

Talking about the structure of the show our source reveals, "There won't be any stand up comedy in groups; each group will be lead by one mentor and they will be the judges for the other groups. The initial in-house practice has already started, and the show will go on floor in few days".

We hear that Boman Irani who was to be part of the show as one of the mentors has backed out due to date problems.

When contacted, Boman confirmed the news and said, "I would say the channel had never ever approached me for any of the comedy reality shows".

Shekhar Suman confirmed his presence in the show, "I am part of the Comedy Reality show on Star Plus".

We also hear that Sohail Khan is not fully finalized, and the other name that is being considered is that of actor Shreyas Talpade.

As of now, the show has got three mentors in Raveena Tandon, Arshad Warsi and Shekhar Suman..
