New Delhi, Mar 10: Assistant Teachers Recruitment Examination (ATRE) , which was scheduled to be held on March 12, has been postponed. The news dates for the examination has not been released till now. The development came after Allahabad High Court on Friday directed the state government to postpone the Assistant Teacher Recruitment Examination 2018 to appoint 65,000 teachers.
As quoted by TOI, the court on March 16 had asked the Examination Regulatory Authority (ERA) to make a fresh evaluation of all answersheets of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the state government on October 15, 2017. The order came on a bunch of writ petitions filed against 14 questions asked in TET, which, petitioners claimed were wrong. The high court had directed the ERA to s**** these 14 questions and prepare fresh results, within a month of the issuance of the order.
Other media reports stated that the Examination Regulatory Authority (ERA) has been granted a month to complete fresh evaluation of all the answer sheets of candidates by deleting 14 questions from question papers and declare the TET 2017 results afresh.
The Uttar Pradesh Basic Education Board will conduct the examination only after the fresh result of Teachers’ Eligibility Test 2017. The refurbished result will be announced after deleting 14 questions which were wrong, out of syllabus or had two correct answers.
It is expected that the examination will be held on June or July of this year. Every state and central government conduct their TET exam every year to appoint candidates for the post of Assistant Teachers. The test is conducted to fulfill and achieve the goals of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act.
