Season 1 - There was no official winner but Rannvijay, who was among the two finalists from this season went on to become a MTV VJ and host the following seasons.
It’s Bollywood calling for MTV’s Rannvijay: Channel MTV’s first 'Roadie' and now the host of the show 'Roadies', Rannvijay has just completed his first Bollywood venture. The host who has become a favourite with the audience because of his hosting talent on the Roadies has finished shooting for his first film 'Toss'. and more films in the future for Mr. Rannvijay.

Season 5 - Ashutosh Kaushik from Saharanpur. Young dhaba owner Ashutosh Kaushik’s life has taken a U-turn since he won the just-concluded fifth season of MTV’s hip adventure reality show Roadies last week. Now, he is set to try his luck in Bollywood. Ashu bhaiyya Chale Bollywood. “I’m feeling great after winning. I am in Mumbai now and will be joining acting classes soon. I want to act in films,” Ashu, as he is popularly known, told IANS on phone from Mumbai. He hails from Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh where he owns a dhaba, a roadside eatery.

MTV Roadies 5.0 is the fifth season of MTV Roadies, a reality television show aired on MTV India. The show was created by Raghu Ram and is hosted by Rannvijay. "Roadies has travel, adventure, drama, touch of voyeurism..." said Raghu Ram, when asked about the show. The maximum prize for winning the show is Rs 500,000.

Selection Procedure: Auditions are held in various major cities in India. People who turn up for the audition are made to undergo a group discussion, following which, selected candidates are chosen for personal interview conducted by Raghu Ram and Nikhil Chinapa.

The interview round is deliberately acrimonious to test the participant's attitude, tolerance and patience levels. In the first two seasons, 7 Roadies were selected. Since then, this number has been increased to 13. There is no limit as to how many times a person can audition.


Format: The selected thirteen Roadies are given Hero Honda Karizma bikes to travel on a pre-decided route. Each episode features a vote-out at the end in which the roadies eliminate one of their fellow roadie, thereby decreasing the number of roadies carrying on with the journey. Each episode consists of number of tasks or challenges which they have to perform.


These tasks can be either "Money tasks" or "Immunity tasks". In the "Money tasks", the roadies add cash to their account on successful completion of these tasks while in "Immunity tasks", the team which wins gets Immunity. The team which attains Immunity becomes safe from vote-out i.e its members cannot be voted-out in that episode.


The above mentioned tasks are either team-based (ie performed between two or more teams) or individual-based (ie performed one-on-one). At the end of scheduled journey, the last roadie who survives till the end is declared the winner and walks away with the total cash accumulated by performing the money tasks.





MTV Roadies season is the first time when an advantage task is introduced. The winner/s of an advantage task get(s) some advantage in the vote out, which may include multiple votes or being the only one(s) to vote in the vote-out. The Indian version of the show is based on the original MTV reality show Road Rules which started in the year 1995.



Life after Roadies
Shambhavi Sharma was offered the lead role in The Little Godfather, produced by Ekta Kapoor and Sunil Shetty. Another contestant, Anmol Singh bagged a role as Archita in Ekta Kapoor's Kuchh Is Tara. Varun Saini along with Vishal (contestant from MTV Roadies Season 4) have been signed up for another reality show on MTV, titled MTV Splitsvilla.

Bani Judge, the finalist from MTV Roadies Season 4 hosts two shows on MTV India – MTV, Wassup (a daily 10 minutes bulletin) and MTV On The Job 2 (a reality show). Ayushmann Khurana, the winner of MTV Roadies Season 2 is also a host for MTV Wassup.



Roadies 4 is obviously the BAAP of all reality shows in India, there is absolutely no doubt about it. There are many reasons why people get allured into watching the show. Some want to experience the exuberance of youth through thelives of 13 people. Some put themselves in the shoes of the Roadies and get an adrenaline rush watching the arduous tasks. Some watch it to see the constant altercations among the Roadies and to have a laugh at their expense. And there are many many more reasons. But the main reason Roadies 4 is to know “When The Hell Will Bani Get Eliminated”.
