B-Town's biggest mentor-protege fallouts

Bollywood over the years has witnessed several capricious relationships that have altered at the drop of a hat. Here are some of the mentor-protege duos who have split up under various circumstances...The latest names caught in the controversy are that of director Ayan Mukerji and producer Karan Johar. Apparently miffed by the pot-shots taken at his son Ranbir on KJo%u2019s chat show, Rishi Kapoor asked Ayan to choose between his son and Karan for his new film. Torn between mentor Karan who gave him a break with 'Wake Up Sid' and his close buddy, Ayan is said to have finally chosen Ranbir over KJo and taken the movie to Studio 18.

It looks like Karan Johar has no paucity of friends-turned-foes. Nikhil Advani and KJo parted ways after completing their successful film together 'Kal Ho Naa Ho'. Their split was a big shock for everybody in the industry as both the men were known to share an excellent rapport with each other. However, over time the men mended their ways and got back together. In fact when Karan Johar was harbouring some problems before the release of 'My Name is Khan', Nikhil logged on to a micro-blogging to express his support for the film-maker.

Once again an erstwhile Karan Johar ally, Soham Shah parted from his mentor on a very bitter note. However, despite all the trouble brewing at their end, Soham has expressed that he will forever be indebted to KJo for his big break in 'Kaal'. It has been said that the main point in their much publicised fall-out was the fact that Soham decided to cast Sanjay Dutt in his next directorial project 'Luck'.
