Best places to celebrate the festivals of colors
 Lathmar Holi of Barsana Barsana is a small village of Uttar Pradesh, here the culture where women beat up men from their neighbour village Nandgaon with sticks prevails for years now. Lathmar Holi is played a week prior to the main day of Holi. In case you want to witness the aesthetical and cultural value of the event, you must visit to the place once.  Traditional Holi of Mathura and Vrindavan The cities of Mathura and Vrindavan gear up for the festival almost a month prior to the main day of Holi. The reason behind is that Lord Krishna being of this place which is why they celebrate Holi with fervour. Citizens start playing Holi a week before the actual day, inspite of colors it starts with flowers, chariot journey and many more events. Royal Holi of Udaipur On the day of Holi, The Maharaja of Mewar welcomes honorable guests, foreign tourists, and many dignitaries to The Royal City Palace. The Maharana arrives in the celebration wearing traditional clothes and a bonfire is lit in the expansive ground of the palace. The bonfire signifies the triumph of good over evil.  Anandpur Sahib in Punjab The festivities at the Anandpur Sahib, one of the holy Sikh pilgrimages is worth your time. Instead of a play of colors, it is a demonstration of Sikh warriors known as blue clothed Nihangs. These fierce warrior monks present physical agility and the traditional art of gathka, a form of martial art.  Delhi The capital city of India is not far behind on the list of best places to celebrate Holi. The multi-ethnic city rejoices the festival with a twist of modernity. On the eve of Holi, bonfires or Holika are lit where people celebrate the victory of good over evil. Next day people play with bright colors.
