Default Box Office Collections & Review - 'Ishq Mein Marjawan'

Ishq Mein Marjawan on Colors has been one anticipated show with courtesy, all the buzz around the thrill and drama associated with the show.
While the promos were confusing and only made us wonder what will actually materialize between Deep Raichand (Arjun Bijlani) and Aarohi (Aalisha Panwar), we are now three episodes into the show and here's what we think about it.

The story so far:

The first episode begins with Aarohi walking into a hotel in a very mysterious manner where she ****s a girl for having cheated upon her fiance, which she thinks is a crime that can be punished only with death. From there, she escapes and goes back home, where she lives a very simple life and acts like nothing happened.

The next morning Inspector Laksh (Vinit Raina) is called at the crime scene in the hotel, where one of the inspector tells how this is the third ****** that has happened and it is in exactly the same manner that the other two happened. While all the evidence has made them believe that it is a man, it is only Inspector Laksh who tells that it is a woman who has done this.

Meanwhile, Aarohi is on her way to a restaurant, which is where Deep sees her for the first time and is in total awe of her. Thereafter, he visits the same restaurant and as luck favours him, he finds her sitting at a table right beside him.

How they meet is rather funny because when they do, Aarohi apologizes to Deep for having spilled food on him. Not forgiving her so easily, he asks her to go on a date with him as a punishment, to which she says nothing while her friend insists that she goes.

Deep sends a car for Aarohi and her Bhabhi comes to know about the entire date and forcefully sends her off. While Aarohi does leave in the car, she does not go for the date, and instead, comes across one of the hotel staff, who has been running away from the police just after an encounter with Inspector Laksh's questions.

Aarohi is also seen talking to someone on a call where she tells the person about how she will take care of him, (who him? we don't know yet). Cut to, we see Aarohi having ******ed the bellboy just the same way she ******ed the girl. As she escapes she comes across Deep yet again amidst the rains, and they both have yet another of their conversations.

The next day, Deep helps Aarohi as a thief steals her bag and he brings it back to her. Mayuri, Aarohi's friend somehow manages to take permission from Aarohi's bhabhi to take her to a party, which has all the rich people in town, and of course, will have Deep has well.

Meanwhile, Inspector Laksh finds a CCTV footage of Aarohi from the day of the girl's ******, however, her face isn't visible. Looking at the girl's expensive jacket, he decides to go to the party with an intention to find her there.

At the party, Deep and Aarohi have their own instances while Inspector Laksh does suspect Aarohi on grounds of her height and looks, but before he could speak to her she escapes.

How will the story move ahead and will there be any progress in Deep and Aarohi's relation is what the viewers need to watch out for next.

The Good:

For a show that claims to be a thriller, we think that justice has been done there. If not at all the times, there have always been high points in the show to have you intrigued and intimidated.

The locales have been put to great use because the show's backdrop is indeed aesthetically pleasing and beautiful. To go along with all of that, the title track does deserve a special mention because it helps in keeping up with the ambiance of the show.

The Bad:
While we cannot deny that there is thrill to keep the viewers engaged, there are also some cliches and glitches to it. For instance how Deep asks Aarohi to come on a date with her just because he is in awe of her is being a little too ambitious, even on Indian Television.

Oh, and not to forget how casually Deep is always somewhere around to hold her, bring her an Umbrella and of course, to be dropped food upon.

The Performances:

Arjun Bijlani as Deep Raichand is charming and suave. This time around he is playing another character and person we've not seen him play on screen and we think he is doing justice to it. We are sure with time passing by, there is going to be only added edge to his character.

Aalisha Panwar as Aarohi is a total stunner. As she takes the lead, both the sides to her character have been portrayed well. Though there are extreme ends to her character, she has managed to have a lasting effect on the viewers.

Vinit Raina as Inspector Laksh is impressive. With a grand entry, and his acting s****s, he has us augusted. His role in the show is definitely an important one, and we think that with time, we will also be seeing new sides to it which will definitely make it better.

Verdict:

With really powerful acting, a story that keeps the viewers a little on the edge at almost all times, the show does deserve a chance despite all the cringe-worthy instances that we've come across.

Ratings: *** (3/5)
