The binding link between the three Crime Branch Units and independent stories is a middle aged Blind Man who is their friend, philosopher and guide. He is genius with an IQ of 200 and a vast experience in investigating crimes. He was a senior police officer who is currently under suspension pending the report of a Departmental Enquiry probing a tragic incident that he was responsible for.

The Blind Man is restricted to his home space due to his condition..though he is not part of any on field investigation or any official proceedings..the CB units go to him for advice on cases during the course of investigation when they feel they have reached a dead-end or are in a dilemma or are confused about what course of action to follow. He has a sharp mind to picture the crime scene with just information from the team and give them brilliant insights.

The blind man helps out the teams ‘unofficially’ and the teams don’t really report to him but hold him as their idol and guiding light.

For rest of the time the CB Units investigate the case entirely on their own, as independent units reporting to their official boss the Chief Investigating Officer who has replaced the Blind Man as the head of Crime Branch, and whom all of them hate from the bottom of their heart.

At times they just drop in for a personal visit and in the bargain end up getting an accidental advice.

The first episode of Sony's new thriller show will be based on the death of 650 birds at the same time...


Sony and Fireworks Productions' Surya – The Super Cop launches tonight at the prime time slot of 9 PM. The show which holds the distinction of being the first daily thriller show on Indian television will kick-start with a very unique story wherein nearly 650 birds fall from above and die at the same time.

We hear that the creative team got into some very extensive research work to shoot this particular scene.

Our source states, "The scene is set for a wedding to happen. Just before the muhurat, two deaths happen, and at the same time nearly 650 birds fall from above into the wedding premise. The modus operandi used for the deaths of the birds and humans are the same. And it is up to the investigative team headed by Surya (Harsh Chhaya) to get to the culprit".

The creative team had to make an extensive study on the type of migratory birds they can show in the scene. Since the shoot had to happen just before the sunset in the evening, they had to be clear about the kind of birds that can be shown at that particular time of the day. All the birds used for the scene were artificially made.

Talking about this, Amitabh Raina, Creative Director, Fireworks Productions told us, "Yes, we had to go thro' an extensive planning to shoot this scene, especially because we had to show the death of the birds just before the sun could set. So it was very crucial to get the timing and shot right. We had to make the fake birds of various types by doing a lot of research. The type of feathers to be attached to it, the kind of birds to be shown etc was worked upon. All the 650 birds had to fall at the same time and this was a very tough shoot to take. Mr. B. P. Singh directed it, and the scene has come out well".

We had earlier reported about Fireworks’ untitled project for Sony and Harsh Chhaya playing the lead. Now we hear, Kishwar Merchant has joined the cast of the show. She is currently playing Haseena on Star One’s Pyaar Kii Ye Ek Kahaani.

A source reveals, “Kishwar has just been added to the show. The show is now titled Surya - The Super Cop. She plays Harsh Chhaya’s wife. She has already started shooting.”

We tried calling Kishwar but she remained unavailable to comment. The show goes on air on April 4 from 9 pm.

The talented actress will be seen in an episodic of the new Sony show..


Shubhangi Aatre will now be seen in an episodic of Sony and Fireworks Productions' new show, Surya – The Super Cop. The versatile actress who was last seen in Imagine's Do Hanson Ka Jodaa will don a new avatar here..

As per our source, "The story is about a lady Shalini who loses her husband when he is all of a sudden ******ed. After 8 years, the people related to the ****** get ****ed and this shocks Surya (Harsh Chhaya). The young investigative team with the aid of Surya investigate the case and get to the culprit".

When contacted, Shubhangi confirmed the news and said, "Yes, I will be doing an episodic of Surya – The Super Cop. It's a nice role, something different from the ones I have played so far".

Pankit Thakker is the next actor who has been roped in to be part of an episodic of Sony's Surya - The Super Cop..


Pankit Thakker, popularly known as Dr. Atul of Dill Mill Gayye is back to the small screen with an episodic in Sony and Fireworks Productions' Surya – The Super Cop.

According to our source, "Pankit will play the character of Suraj, who is very positive. He is madly in love with a girl; his life takes a new turn when his girl friend is ******ed under mysterious circumstances. The investigative team will solve the case".

When contacted, Pankit confirmed the news saying, "Yes, I am doing an episodic in Surya – The Super Cop. The character is very interesting, but I cannot reveal much".

This particular episode will air next week..
