Karan Johar’s highly-anticipated production venture Dhadak featuring newcomers Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor has finally hit the screens today. With an unprecedented buzz, the romantic drama is expected to perform extremely well at the ticket windows. Since the film is an official remake of Marathi blockbuster Sairat, the movie buffs are quite excited about how the debutants have presented the raw love story in a typical Bollywood.

Now talking about debutants, right from Hrithik Roshan-Ameesha Patel’s Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai to Sooraj Pancholi-Athiya Shetty’s Hero, we have noticed these newcomers are launched by big banners and are mostly remakes. The makers generally take this step to give the film a commercial touch which generally helps the film to perform well at the box office. Though it totally depends upon the audience to decide the film’s fate at the box office. Talking about Dhadak, the members of the industry are expecting the film to be a huge hit and if it strikes the right chord with the audience, it might become the highest grosser considering a debut film.

Here are the collections of Bollywood’s big stars’ debut films:

Student of the Year – Rs 70 crore
