Kangana hit in public

 Kangana Ranaut was hit in the chest by Aditya Pancholi near the Juhu-Versova link road. Three days later, Aditya admitted to a relationship with Kangana but stated that there was nothing ***ual between them. What he said: "Kangana has been my girlfriend for the last three-and-a-half years. Her family thinks I'm god." Aditya Status now: Aditya is still married to actress Zarina Wahab. Kangana split from boyfriend Adhyayan Suman this year. Her 2010 films includes Kites.

Desperate measures

 TV actress Shweta Tiwari filed a non-cognisable offense of assault and forcefully taking away their daughter Palak against husband Raja Chaudhary. Weeks later, a drunk Raja created a ruckus outside Cooper Hospital, yelling at the cops who had taken him there for an alcohol test. What he said: "Raja never seemed the sort to harm Shweta. But he is extremely possessive of her." — Raj Logani, Shweta's cousin and TV actor Status now: Shweta filed for divorce from Raja. Shweta continues to act and host TV shows. Raja was in Bigg Boss 2.

Loaded loss

 A fire broke out at Pune's FTII destroying 4000 plus original nitrate film prints. Raja Harishchandra, Bapu ki Amar Kahani and Amar Jyoti were among the original prints lost. What he said: "These films are highly inflammable but no one knows the cause of the fire." Prem Matiyani, director Status now: There have been strikes by staff and students over the years. Efforts are on to restore the archives.

Ishmeet drowns in Maldives
30 September 2008
 Nineteen-year-old Voice of India winner Ishmeet Singh drowned in a hotel swimming pool in Male. Ishmeet didn't know how to swim and had ventured into the deep end. What he said: "Ishmeet was waving for help and I thought he was joking. After he disappeared, I called for help." VOI Chhote Ustad contestant Vyom Kapoor. Status now: Ishmeet Singh Foundation was founded by his parents, who have alleged that his accomplices watched him drown and the event company mismanaged the whole affair. Two tribute albums were released.

 Slumdog child actor Rubina Qureshi's mother Khushu and stepmother Munni fought over the girl's custody after Rubina's father Rafiq Qureshi allegedly found it difficult to refuse Rs 1.4 crore offered to buy his daughter in a sting operation done by a UK tabloid. What he said: "We don't raise our children to sell them. Khushi left Rubina when she was two years old. Why should we give her custody now?" Rafiq Qureshi Status now: Rubina also acted in Kal Kissne Dekha this year, after Slumdog released.
