Sarkar Raj (Hindi: सरकार राज, translation: Rule of the Overlord) is a 2008 Indian dramatic thriller film set in the world of politics and crime. It was co-written and directed by Ram Gopal Varma. It is the sequel to Sarkar (2005).

The primary cast features three members of the Bachchan family - Amitabh Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, who reprise their roles from the prequel, and new entrant Aishwarya Rai. Supriya Pathak, Tanisha Mukherjee and Ravi Kale also reappeared in their respective roles from Sarkar. The film released on 6 June 2008.



Premise
The politically influential Shankar Nagre agrees to back a power plant scheme presented by corporate hotshot Anita Rajan; providing their enemies, which include upcoming political firebrands, an embezzling facilitator and shady businessmen with a unique opportunity to destroy the mass political clout enjoyed by him and his father (Subhash Nagre), the political icon known as "Sarkar".

The plot of the original film Sarkar was adapted from the 1969 novel The Godfather. However, the sequel Sarkar Raj follows an original plot instead.



Plot
The sequel is chronologically set two years after the original film, Sarkar.
The movie opens with an assassination attempt against Shankar Nagre (Abhishek Bachchan) being busted by his lieutenant Chander (Ravi Kale). The assassination follows the 'chain of command' theory mentioned in The Godfather (novel) (the lower members or links of the chain were ****ed so that the planners could not be found). It was planned by Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra (a state in India), Karunesh Kaanga (Sayaji Shinde) and Hassan Qazi (Govind Namdeo).

Anita Rajan (Aishwarya Rai), CEO of an international electrical power firm based in London, holds a meeting with Mike Rajan (Victor Banerjee), her father and boss and Hassan Qazi, as a seemingly shady adviser and facilitator; regarding an ambitious proposal to set up a multi-million dollar power plant in rural parts of the state of Maharashtra in India. Qazi states that this project will be impossible due to possible political entanglements. When Anita asks him for a solution, Qazi states that enlisting the support of Subhash Nagre (Amitabh Bachchan) (commonly referred to by his title of Sarkar), who he describes as a criminal in the garb of a popular and influential political leader, might help their cause.

Sarkar is shown greeting a massive crowd from the balcony of his palatial bungalow in Mumbai, Maharashtra. They have gathered to celebrate his 60th birthday. He addresses the crowd and states that he is proud of what his son, Shankar, has achieved as the heir of the Nagre clan. He then goes down to mingle with the rejoicing crowd.

Anita is accompanied by the Chief Minister of Maharastra, Kaanga, and Qazi to the Nagres's residence. They put forward the power plant proposal to Subhash and Shankar. Subhash angrily rebukes the CM, who had been brought to power thanks to Sarkar's influence; for agreeing to sponsor the power plant as the project involved resettlement of around 40,000 people from five villages surrounding the major rural vote bank of Thakerwadi. The CM apologizes and promises that something like this won't happen again. After this failed meeting gets over, the dejected Anita tells Qazi that she doesn't think things will work out in this 'jungle-like' political scenario. Qazi however reassures her by saying that there is still some hope left as Shankar had not said a word during the meeting.



Shankar is trying to convince his father about the benefits of the plant and the tremendous progress it can spark in the power-hungry state of Maharashtra. He states that one should overlook a small loss in the present if there is a promise of a greater gain in the future. After some convincing, Subhash somewhat reluctantly agrees to support the project.

Father and son proceed to Thakerwadi, accompanied by Shankar's wife Avantika (Tanisha Mukherjee), their trusted lieutenant Chander (Ravi Kale) and bodyguards. They have gone to meet Rao Saab, Sarkar's wise mentor and a popular leader in the interns of Maharashtra; to seek blessings and advice for the project. He is initially reluctant about the idea and Shankar vehemently opposes his stance. However, he agrees to give his go-ahead to the project after Shankar convinces him that Sarkar believes in the project, although it is apparent that neither Rao Saab nor Subhash himself is entirely convinced.

During the meeting, Rao Saab's grandson, Sanjay Somji (debutante Rajesh Shringarpure) storms in to complain about a matter and proposes a violent solution. Rao Saab promises to look into the matter and introduces him to the Nagres as a leader in the local farmers' union. He describes him as a short-tempered albeit good-natured man.

Anita and Shankar have a meeting, after which Qazi tries to bribe Shankar to let him embezzle money from the project; when Anita goes to attend a phone call from her father. However, the righteous Shankar informs Anita about the corrupt Qazi's plans. She informs her father who later fires him.
Shankar, along with Anita, visits the villages to mobilize support from the masses. During this campaign, Anita starts to admire Shankar and realizes her conversations with him sets a strong foundation for friendship with him. Shankar states that the power plant has become as much of a dream for him as it is for Anita, who relishes this opportunity as an opportunity to work independently from the constraints of her boss and estranged father. However, they face an obstacle in the form of Somji, who incites the people against the Nagres, calling them money-minded city-dwellers who don't care about the welfare of the rural public and are just out to grab tracts of their motherland. The fickle public react by protesting violently.
Kantilal Vora (Upendra Limaye), a businessman, approaches Sarkar with the proposal of shifting the project to the state of Gujarat, as the project was seemingly facing a dead end in Maharashtra. After his idea is unceremoniously rejected by the Nagres, he joins hands with Qazi and Kaanga (who is unhappy with Sarkar for making him deputy CM instead of CM) to make a plot against the Nagres.



Subhash mourns over the death of Vishnu (played by Kay Kay Menon in Sarkar), his erring son who was ****ed by Shankar for a ****** attempt on his father. Later, Subhash tells his son that Kantilal Vora had come, in a manner that hints that he is a threat to their cause, but the seemingly overconfident Shankar brushes the matter aside and tells his father not to worry about anything as he would take care of whatever comes up.
Meanwhile Chander approaches Shankar with the idea of intimidating Somji, who is proving quite problematic. However, Shankar declares that he wishes to hold talks with Somji as he believes that both work for the benefit of Maharashtra and that Somji is merely uninformed about the project. He orders the bewildered and dismayed Chander to arrange for a meeting. With some difficulty, he succeeds in arranging a cell phone conversation just when Shankar is about to enter his car. As he is standing in the courtyard talking to Somji, the vehicle explodes. Avantika, two months pregnant was sitting inside the car waiting for Shankar, dies. Subhash, who rushes to the balcony on hearing the explosion, gets a heart attack on witnessing the scene.

Shankar fires Chander over the security breach that resulted in the explosion, without giving him a chance to prove himself. He appoints a deputy, Bala, as the new security officer. Shankar, Anita and Pushpa (Supriya Pathak), Shankar’s mother, visit Subhash in the hospital. Here, Subhash consoles Shankar and tells him to forget the incident for a while and to keep going with the project. Shankar responds by asking his father how he could forget the loss of his beloved wife and unborn child.



Unknown assailants kidnap Somji as he is on his way to a rally. Media speculation and general opinion point to Shankar as the culprit. As Subhash watches the news with Kaanga, he notices by Kaanga’s speech and behavior that he could possibly be a perpetrator.

Shankar attends a party hosted by Anita for those involved in the project. Here, Mike tells Anita that he is giving the project to the business-minded Vora, as he is fed up of the problems faced by it in Maharashtra and also of Shankar’s idealistic approach to them. When Anita tells him that this would be wrong, as their promises to the rural public of Maharashtra would be broken; Mike remarks that she shouldn’t be moralistic and should think of profits. Anita replies that Shankar would not allow this, to which Mike ominously retorts that Shankar would be ‘taken care of’, thus arousing Anita’s suspicions. Her father then introduces her to Vora, and the two men go off to discuss the business.

Meanwhile at the party, Shankar receives a phone call from Chander, who in an attempt to redeem himself, has found out that Somji is being held captive by Qazi in a house in a forested region. Shankar leaves the party with Bala, rushes to the spot in a jeep and picks up Chander on the way, who leads them to the secluded hideout in the middle of a forested area. They wish to settle scores with Qazi and free Somji so as to shatter kidnapping allegations against them. Shankar purposely crashes the jeep into an electrical generator. This causes a forest fire, and all the guards rush outside and make efforts to stop it. Hence they become easy and unsuspecting targets for the trio. Shankar enters the house and shoots down Qazi as he rushes out about to escape. A terrified Somji is also freed.


The indebted Somji becomes an aide to the Nagres. Rao Saab calls Shankar and thanks him for bringing a positive change in his grandson, something he himself could not do. Meanwhile, Kaanga and Vora hire an assassin, apparently to **** Shankar. Shankar and Somji hold a joint press conference where they announce their alliance. Somji says that he is now a supporter of the project, a statement that brings some ire from one of the apparent supporters of his previous stance, who is present at the conference. The assassin is also present there.

Anita and Shankar are having a conversation over tea at a secluded balcony. Anita tells him that the project is being taken to Gujarat, to which he replies that only efforts are being made to take it there, and he won’t let that happen. He says that the two main threats, Qazi and Somji, have been taken care of, and now the going will be a lot smoother. Anita relays Mike’s statement that he would ‘take care of’ Shankar. But Shankar says that she is having irrational fears. The two face a few uneasy moments, realizing the extent of their feelings for each other and Shankar is then shot multiple times by the unseen assassin.



Subhash, Pushpa and Chander rush to visit Shankar at the hospital. The doctor informs them that Shankar's chances of survival are low. a heartbroken Pushpa collapses on hearing this. Subhash enters the ward where a fatally wounded Shankar and a sobbing Anita are present. He tries to give Shankar strength, but Shankar passes away and Anita starts crying uncontrollably collapsing to the floor. His body is taken for cremation, Subhash writes in the ashes and the rain increases to wash away the inscription as Anita watches.

Subhash begins on a path of bloody revenge. He asks Anita who was present with her dad at the party, and on being told that it was Vora, instructs Bala that he wants to see him "now". Vora is abducted and tortured at the Nagre’s mansion for information about the others involved, and presumably ****ed later. Kaanga is knifed at his office while Bala bludgeons the assassin to death with a rifle’s ****. Chander is also shown as one of the traitors. He was the one who informed the assassin about Shankar’s location. He was also angry that Shankar had fired him and chosen to trust a rookie (Bala). He says that he had been loyal to Subhash for twenty years as he respected him and his way of functioning, but could not digest the way Shankar worked as the Sarkar. Subhash tells him if after twenty years he couldn't understand, there was nothing to explain then. As Subhash turns to take a phone call Bala shoots Chander in the head.

Subhash goes up to Anita and informs her that her dad, Mike, had been shot dead by one of his men in London. She sheds a stray tear as Subhash tells her about the conspiracy to **** Shankar. Vora wanted to handle the profitable venture himself, while Qazi wanted to embezzle a few hundred crores from the multi-million dollar project. Both realized that Shankar’s presence would not allow them to do what they wanted and hence bumped him off. Kaanga meanwhile wanted to overthrow the ruling party so that he could enjoy the powers of being the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, but realized that the support given by the Nagres to the ruling party would prevent him from doing so. ****ing Shankar was probably intended to weaken the Nagres’ hold over Maharashtrian politics. Meanwhile, Chander thought he would succeed Subhash as the next Sarkar but the unexpected arrival of Shankar on the scene (in the first movie Sarkar) dismayed him.
However, Subhash then states that he has discovered that this whole setup was actually a cover-up for an elaborate and dirty political conspiracy in which Qazi, Kaanga, Vora, Chander, Mike and the ****er were merely pawns. When Anita asks him who the mastermind behind it was, Subhash unexpectedly replies that it was Rao Saab. The conspiracy was to make Somji the new ‘Sarkar’. He was the one who instructed the trio of Qazi, Kaanga and Vora about everything. The bomb that was planted in Shankar’s car was merely a distraction and was not meant to **** Shankar, as would have been thought (as Shankar would have been in the car had it not been for Somji’s phone call). Shankar was not bumped off at this stage because then the public perceived Somji and him to be enemies, and Shankar’s death would arouse his supporters suspicion against Somji and make them turn against him, thus defeating the entire purpose of the conspiracy. To achieve this end, Rao Saab orchestrated Somji’s kidnapping and sacrificed Qazi. Hence when Shankar saved Somji and Somji joined the Nagres’ campaign, the public perceived him to be a younger brother to Shankar. Thus when Shankar would be ****ed, the public would automatically consider his ‘brother’ Somji to be his successor. On hearing about the complete conspiracy, a stunned Anita asks Subhash what would happen next. Subhash talks about who would now take his son's place and she replies "You". Subhash replies that Rao Saab would be coming to his residence the next day.

The next day as Rao Saab arrives, he sits down with Subhash and shows feigned grief over Shankar’s death. He then asks Subhash who would be able to take on Shankar’s mantle. Subhash points behind Rao Saab, who turns to see the bloody corpse of his grandson Somji and is visibly terrified as to what Subhash would do to him now that his plot has been uncovered. Subhash asks Rao Saab what he should do now. Subhash stands up and walks out of the room, what finally happens to Rao Saab is not shown.

Subhash is shown lamenting that his son had to pay the price of his actions. He goes and sits on his son’s desk, symbolizing that he has reclaimed the title of ‘Sarkar’ himself after Shankar’s death. He calls out to his wife Pushpa and tells her to call his daughter-in-law Amrita (the wife of the deceased Vishnu Nagre, played by Kay Kay Menon in the prequel Sarkar) and tell her to send his grandson Chiku from the city of Nagpur to their house in Mumbai. This is probably to feature his training as a successor in a sequel. In the closing shots of the movie, Anita is shown at the Nagres’ residence holding a meeting, she turns and casually and comfortably asks for a cup of tea.

The Pink Panther 2 is a 2009 detective comedy film directed by Harald Zwart.^[2] It is the sequel to the 2006 film The Pink Panther, a reboot of the popular comedy series.^[3] The film was released on February 6, 2009 in North America.^[4] In the film, Inspector Clouseau must team up with detectives from other countries to rout the daring cat burglar, The Tornado, who has returned after a decade of inactivity. Steve Martin, who reprised the role of Clouseau, originated by Peter Sellers, polished the original script written by Scott Neustadter and Michael M. Weber in November 2006. Columbia Pictures, partnering with MGM on the sequel, hired the team of Lowell Ganz and Babaloo Mandel to perform a further rewrite in January 2007. Principal photography began in Paris on August 20, 2007, then moved to Boston several weeks later, where filming ended on November 2, 2007.

Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai appears as the criminology expert, Sonia Solandres. John Cleese replaces Kevin Kline as Chief Inspector Dreyfus with Jean Reno and Emily Mortimer reprising their roles as Clouseau's partner Ponton and Clouseau's girlfriend Nicole. Andy García, Yuki Matsuzaki and Alfred Molina round out the cast as detectives, Inspector Vicenzo Brancaleone, Inspector Kenji Mazuto and Chief Inspector Randall Pepperidge. It was released on Blu-ray and DVD on June 23, 2009.




Plot
When the master thief, the Tornado, begins stealing expensive artifacts (the Magna Carta in London, the Turin Shroud in Turin, and the Imperial Sword in Kyoto), the Government of France assembles a Dream Team of International Detectives to solve the case. Inspector Clouseau (Steve Martin) is reassigned from his task as a parking officer by Chief Inspector Dreyfus (John Cleese) to join the Dream Team in Japan, site of the Tornado's recent heist. At the airport, as soon as he is officially leaving France, news breaks that the Pink Panther Diamond has also been stolen. Clouseau travels back to the scene of the crime, where the other members of the Dream Team, Inspector Pepperidge (Great Britain), Vicenzo (Italy), Kenji (an electronics specialist from Japan), and Sonia (a researcher and criminology expert from India), are gathering. They go to Rome to investigate a black market fence, Alonso Avellaneda (Jeremy Irons), who deals with The Tornado. Assuming he is The Tornado, the Dream Team question him while Clouseau snoops around. Avellaneda successfully vindicates himself by demonstrating that he lacks a bullet-wound to the right shoulder- the Tornado was shot in that shoulder during a theft over a decade ago. After they leave, Avellaneda meets with the Tornado himself (Johnny Hallyday).

Later on that night, Clouseau and his partner, Ponton (Jean Reno), spy on Avellaneda, using a bug they planted at the table they were sitting, as he takes a date out for dinner. Unfortunately, the mission is compromised when they find Vicenzo and Clouseau's love interest, Nicole (Emily Mortimer), together at the restaurant. Having been banned for burning down the restaurant three months earlier, Clouseau disguises himself as a dancer and attempts to switch the bug to Nicole's table. In the process, he ends up burning down the restaurant again, thanks to knocking down a flambe a waiter is holding. At the same time, The Tornado steals the Pope's ring, an act which begins to turn public opinion against the Dream Team. When Clouseau's acts of foolishness aggravate the situation, he is voted off the team, with only Sonia sympathizing with him. Shortly afterward, Clouseau is called to an office where they see the Tornado has ****ed himself, and left a suicide note claiming he destroyed the Pink Panther- regarding it as being so beautiful that he could not bring anyone other than himself to own it- and left the other treasures to be recovered. Examining a key they found in the Pope's Chambers, they successfully match the DNA of the victim with DNA of the Tornado acquired when he was shot, and thus believe themselves to have solved the case. However, Clouseau is unconvinced and believes the Tornado was not the thief.



For their victory in recovering the stolen items (minus the Pink Panther), a celebration is thrown in the Dream Team's honor. Clouseau, who was not invited, tries to convince Dreyfus that the real thief is still at large, but is ignored. Dreyfus relays to the group that Clouseau told him Sonia was the thief, and the group, treating the idea as a joke, works out a plausible explanation for how she could have done it; as the Tornado's ex-lover, she would have in-depth knowledge of his methods, and has set up a plan. She would make the Tornado steal all the other artifacts so all attention would be drawn to him. Then, Sonia could set him up, make him come out of hiding, **** him, forge a suicide note, and keep the Pink Panther, which was the only fencible artifact. Nicole suddenly realizes that Clouseau's story may actually be feasible, prompting Nicole to ask Sonia to conclude the joke by showing the contents of her purse, Clouseau claiming that the Pink Panther is in her purse. Disgusted by this indirect accusation, Sonia attempts to leave the party. As Sonia tries to leave, Nicole again asks her to take everything out of her purse. Sonia pulls out a gun, and after initially threatening to shoot Nicole, she shoots Clouseau, but the bullet hits the medal of honor he had received. She then runs upstairs. Clouseau and the rest of the Dream Team chase her all around the building, while they all, except for Clouseau, make fools of themselves.

Finally cornered, Sonia threatens to destroy the Pink Panther, and Clouseau successfully goads her to do so. Clouseau reveals that she had destroyed a fake gem he had switched with the real one before his departure from France, and that the Tornado, a master thief and a recognized authority on valuable gems, would have recognized this; therefore, his suicide note— where he praised the beauty of the gem in his possession— was forged and he was actually ******ed. He reveals that he had given Sonia's car a ticket one day before the Pink Panther was stolen, contradicting her alibi of having been delayed to the crime scene because of her flight. Dreyfus tries to claim credit for having appointed Clouseau to his parking job, but Clouseau, remembering Dreyfus told him to deny this to anyone who asked, rebukes the claim. Clouseau later marries Nicole, though the wedding is short-lived after Dreyfus fires the cork out of the Champagne bottle onto a security device, causing elite unit operatives to storm the party in a manner similar to an earlier event in the film. Clouseau and Nicole ditch the wedding and head for the airport for their honeymoon with the animated Pink Panther watching them leave. The film ends with Pink Panther looking into the camera as he walks into the chaotic wedding and closes the door.

Raavan (Hindi: रावण) is a 2010 Hindi film directed, written and produced by Mani Ratnam. It stars Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram in the lead roles while Govinda, Ravi Kishan, Nikhil Dwivedi, Tejaswini Kolhapure and Priyamani feature in key supporting roles. It was simultaneously released in Tamil as Raavanan with a slightly different cast, which would also be dubbed into Telugu and other regional languages. The film's score and soundtrack is composed by A. R. Rahman. The film was released on 18 June 2010. The film's premiere was held in London on 16 June 2010



Raavanan (Tamil: ராவணன், English: Ravana) is a 2010 Tamil thriller film written, produced, and directed by Mani Ratnam. The film stars Vikram in the lead role, with Aishwarya Rai and Prithviraj essaying other pivotal roles along with a supporting cast led by Karthik, Prabhu, and Priyamani. Featuring dialagoues from Suhasini, music from A. R. Rahman, editing from Sreekar Prasad and cinematography shared by Santosh Sivan and V. Manikandan, the film was also made simultaneously in Hindi as Raavan, with a slightly different cast. Furthermore, the film was dubbed and released in Telugu as Villain, with all three versions releasing simultaneously on 18 June 2010. The Tamil version, became a massive success.

The film follows the crux of the epic Ramayana, with a ruthless police officer on the chase to find a tribal leader and lawbreaker, who has kidnapped his wife. Veeraiya, the kidnapper and his motif for the kidnap has been led on by the death of his sister, as a result of police custodial torture and brutal ****. The film explores the search by the officer, whilst exploring the changing emotions that the three protagonists experience with each other, leading to a riveting climax, situated in the jungle. Raavanan was announced in February 2008, amidst much hype of the celebrated director, Mani Ratnam's return to Tamil films, whilst Vikram's and Aishwarya Rai's selection in the lead roles, creating more anticipation.

Shooting began soon after, and took place in various locations with a record number of extras in areas including Chalakudy, Kerala and Ooty, Tamil Nadu amongst other regions throughout India. Prior to release, the film was given a universal rating by the Central Board of Film Certification.



Plot
The film opens with shots showing Beera Munda (Abhishek Bachchan) jumping off a cliff into the water. His gang is busy distracting the police. Police and police vehicles are set ablaze. Ragini Sharma (Aishwarya Rai), on a boating trip, is kidnapped by Beera. Dev Pratap Sharma (Vikram), her husband and a superintendent of police, is informed.

A brief montage of sorts showcases the story of Beera. He is seen as a local hero, a sort of Robin Hood- who runs a parallel govt, with his brothers - Mangal (Ravi Kishan) and Hari (Ajay Gehi). Though considered a terrorist by the local police, Beera is respected by the villagers. He kidnaps Ragini hoping to avenge the death of his sister Jamuni (Priyamani). Dev and his team enter the forests with the aid of Sanjeevani Kumar (Govinda), a forest guard. Despite searching deep in the forests, Dev is unable to hunt down Beera.



Beera eventually tells Ragini the story of his sister's death; Dev had led an encounter against Beera during Jamuni's wedding. Dev's shot grazed Beera in the neck. Beera escaped, but the police captured and serially ****d Jamuni, when she refused to reveal Beera's whereabouts. Beera returns home to find Jamuni distraught and traumatized. The next day, she commits suicide by drowning in a nearby well.

Unhappy that his brother is preparing for war, Hari convinces Beera to allow Hari to offer a truce to Dev. Dev initially seems to agree, but when Hari comes out in the open, Dev shoots him to death. Beera and Mangal are enraged and attack Dev's camp and wipe it out. A final confrontation between Beera and Dev takes place on a rickety bridge, where Beera prevents Dev from falling to his death. Dev later finds Ragini bound and tied, with Beera leaving her.



However, while riding a train back to their hometown, Dev accuses Ragini of infidelity and informs her that it was Beera who told him so. Furious, Ragini leaves Dev to meet Beera through Mangal. When she does, she asks him what Beera had told Dev. Beera replies that he had said, he protected Ragini for all the fourteen days and not anything else. They quickly realize Dev lied, hoping Ragini would lead him to his hideout. Dev appears with a police team and confront the duo. Ragini tries to save Beera, but he pushes her out of the line of fire. He is shot multiple times. Raagini's true feelings comes to surface when she tries to save Beera with all her might. Content that Raagini too has feelings for him, Beera falls off the cliff to his death with a smile.

Box office
Raavan opened "below expectations" at the Indian box office, with the Hindi version earning Rs 60 million (Rs 6 crore) on its opening day. and 23.83 crore through its first week. In North America, Raavan opened in 120 theaters and ranked #15 on the domestic weekend box office chart with $482,760. As of June 24, it had collected $573,314 in this market. The film was declared a flop by box office India.

Enthiran (Tamil: எந்திரன்) is a 2010 Tamil science fiction film co-written and directed by S. Shankar. The film features Rajinikanth in dual roles, as a professor and an android robot. Aishwarya Rai and Danny Denzongpa play other lead roles while Santhanam, Karunas, Kalabhavan Mani, Devadarshini, and Cochin Haneefa play supporting roles. The film's story revolves around a scientist's struggle to control his creation, an android robot whose programme was upgraded to give it the ability to comprehend and generate human emotions. The plan backfires as the robot falls in love with the scientist's fiancée and is further manipulated to bring destruction to the world when it lands in the hands of a rivaling scientist. How the robot is stopped from further destruction forms the rest of the plot.

After nearly a decade of pre-production work, the film was shot over two years beginning in 2008. Produced by Kalanidhi Maran and Hansraj Saxena, it became India's most expensive film.^[4] Upon release, it also made the largest worldwide opening for an Indian film.^[5][6] The film's background score and soundtrack was composed by A. R. Rahman, which released as an album on 31 July 2010. The film released worldwide on 1 October 2010, along with its dubbed versions: Robot in Hindi and Robo in Telugu.^[7] Upon release, it enjoyed critical acclaim and commercial success across the globe, collecting an unprecedented 62 crore in the opening weekend, becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film and the second highest-grossing Indian film of all time



Plot
Dr. Vaseegaran (Rajinikanth), a professor specialized in robotics, creates a sophisticated android robot in his own likeness after a decade of intensive research. His mother (Revathi Sankaran) suggests him to name it Chitti Babu (Rajinikanth).

In the International Robotic Conference - India 2009, Vaseegaran introduces Chitti to the delegates. Later it's revealed that Vaseegaran's mentor, Dr. Bohra (Danny Denzongpa) was pre-occupied in a botched research project to create a similar superintelligent android robot. Bohra's experiments turn only partially fruitful.

Chitti endears himself to Vaseegaran's girlfriend, Sana (Aishwarya Rai) and helps her cheat in her medical school exams by using the ZigBee protocol to dictate her the answers from outside the examination hall. Chitti and Sana are caught, but Sana tells the invigilators that she doesn't even know him. Chitti learns that humans may choose to lie for self-preservation. Chitti's superhuman talents soon gains him a lot of fans, especially in the women's hostel housing Sana.

Vaseegaran prepares Chitti for a panel evaluation by the Artificial Intelligence Research and Development Institute (AIRD), which is headed by Dr. Bohra. The panel enquires whether Chitti's build confirms to the Three Laws of Robotics of Isaac Asimov. Vaseegaran replies in the negative. During evaluation, Chitti almost stabs Vaseegaran at Bohra's command. Bohra convinces the evaluation committee that Chitti could not be relied upon in the battlefield because he could be easily made to turn against his owners. Later, Chitti tries to rescue a girl from a building fire emergency. Chitti carries her into the public and media focus. As she tries to run away from the TV cameras, she is fatally run over by a truck.



Vaseegaran decides to modify Chitti's neural schema and embed a positronic brain to allow him to understand human psyche, behaviour and emotions, and succeeds in doing so by installing a new hormone simulation module into the robot. Later Chitti successfully applies his knowledge in ancient and modern medical sciences to handle the complicated labour of Latha (Devadarshini), Sana's friend. The procedure is covered live by the media. Dr. Bohra arrives to congratulate Dr.Vaseegaran on the achievement. He also lets Chitti pass the AIRD's evaluation. But problems have only begun for Vaseegaran. Chitti begins to develop feelings for Sana. This causes a confrontation between Vaseegaran and Chitti at Sana's birthday party. Sana tries to explain Chitti that she can love him only as a friend and asks him to forget her. Dr. Bohra tries to take advantage of the situation and tells Chitti that Vaseegaran is using him only for his personal benefits, and that he does not value Chitti's feelings. Dr Bohra's words do have their effect on Chitti; he deliberately fails in an evaluation conducted by the Indian Army. Vaseegaran chops Chitti into pieces and throws it away in a landfill site.
Bohra, who had already struck up a deal with a European terrorist group through an Indian agent named Shah (Sabu Cyril) to sell them superintelligent robots, had failed to meet the deadline and is given an ultimatum by the group's leader. He retrieves Chitti's parts from the junkyard and fixes it up. He gives Chitti a new appearance, and embeds a "red chip" inside Chitti, thereby converting him into a ruthless terminator. Chitti gatecrashes Vaseegaran and Sana's wedding, kidnaps her, imprisons her in AIRD and threatens her with **** and creation of a cyborg in her womb.
Vaseegaran establishes remote communication with Chitti via holographic projection and instructs Chitti to return to his lab. But Chitti refuses to oblige and disconnects the transmission. Calling himself "Version 2.0" now, Chitti begins to create replicas. Dr. Bohra, who tries to challenge, is ****ed by Chitti. Soon Chitti's army of robots cause mayhem in the city, and take over AIRD. Media begins to speculate on a impending cybernetic revolt.



Vaseegaran undertakes the responsibility to stop Chitti. Disguised as one of the robots, he successfully infiltrates Chitti's fort—the AIRD headquarters. Vaseegaran instructs the police to cut the power supply in the entire city and Sana distracts Chitti from the problem by pretending that she had finally fallen in love with him. Eventually, when Chitti and his army are about to run out of power, they find an alternate solution: they seize vehicles on the road and use their batteries to recharge themselves up.
Chitti finds out Vaseegaran, but as Chitti is about to **** him, the police force strikes the fort. The robots assemble themselves into a sphere, snake, tower, and drill bit formations to defend themselves. One of the robots get immobilized by a grenade explosion, and is taken into custody by Vaseegaran. He uploads a computer worm into Chitti's network which temporarily brings down the robot army. Chitti identifies the source of the worm and sends a "self-destruct" command to the robot. Eventually, the robots assemble in the shape of a giant and chase Vaseegaran's armoured bus. Vaseegaran used the data he had backed up from the destroyed robot to de-magnetise the robot army, which results in the collapse of the giant formation. Chitti is pulled into the bus by a huge magnetic wall. Vaseegaran now has access to Chitti's internal control panel, through which he instructs all the other robots to self-destruct. He then removes the red chip, thereby calming him down.



In a final court hearing, the jury rules capital punishment for Vaseegaran citing the large number of casualties and damages to public property caused by the robot army. Chitti, explaining to the court that the law allows it to be treated as material evidence, if not as a witness, explains that it was Dr. Bohra who caused Chitti's deviant behaviour. He shows the court, using his eyes as 3D projectors, the video footage of Dr. Bohra installing the red chip inside him. The court decides to drop all charges against Vaseegaran, while concluding that Chitti should be dismantled in order to avoid further mishaps of the same kind in future. The jury also observes that a robot as advanced as Chitti is "unnecessary for contemporary human lifestyle and culture". Back at the lab, in the presence of bureaucrats and police officials, an emotional Vaseegaran tells Chitti to dismantle itself. While taking off its parts one by one, Chitti apologizes to Sana and Vaseegaran for the problems it caused.



Twenty years later, in 2030, students in a science museum are escorted by a guide towards a showcase that has Chitti's body parts arranged. The guide tells the students that Chitti was the most advanced humanoid robot that was created twenty years ago and that it was dismantled due to "certain reasons". A curious student (Shriya Sharma) asks why, to which Chitti's head responds saying, "I started to think."

Action Replayy (formerly Action Replay) is an Indian science-fiction romantic-comedy film directed by Vipul Shah and starring Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai in the lead roles. Neha Dhupia, Om Puri, Kirron Kher, Randhir Kapoor and Rajpal Yadav play supporting roles in the film. The film was released on 5 November 2010, coinciding with Diwali. The movie is similar to the 1985 Hollywood movie Back to the Future starring Michael J. Fox.



Plot
Bunty (Aditya Roy Kapoor) believes that if his parents' marriage had been a love marriage, his life would have been perfect; it was an arranged marriage, so his father Kishen (Akshay Kumar) does not get along with his mother Mala (Aishwarya Rai). Bunty always runs away from his girlfriend, Tanya (Sudeepa Singh), whenever she mentions marriage; he has developed a marriage phobia due to his parents' arguments.



One day, Tanya's grandfather, Professor Anthony Gonsalves (Randhir Kapoor), gives him the choice to either marry Tanya or forget her forever. Bunty sneaks in and steals the Professor's time machine late at night to transport himself to the 1970s. He will not leave until he makes his parents' marriage a love story. Upon reaching the 1970s, he finds that it is not as easy as he thought. He tries all he can to create friendship between the two.
