Last year, Sanjay Nirupam made history by becoming the first politician to participate in Bigg Boss 2. It seems other leaders of the country are taking cue from Nirupam. Controversial BJP leader Varun Gandhi is now tipped be part of the upcoming third season. Shakti Kapoor and item girl Poonam Jawhar are said to be in the fray too.


As per media reports, Gandhi has been approached by Colors and Endemol India to participate in Bigg Boss 3. However, Gandhi’s aide rubbished the news.


We called at Varun’s residence where an aide denied that Varun was made any offer. “Since last evening, the media is carrying this story but there’s no truth to it. As far as I know, Varun hasn’t been made any offer,” said the aide.


Channels and production officials are simply keeping mum on such reports.
In the last year or so, Gandhi has remained a controversial figure and was booked for making inflammatory speeches at a political rally in Uttar Pradesh. That prompted UP chief minister to file a case against him. Gandhi’s actions let to the Election Commission disqualifying him from contesting Lok Sabha polls.

Shakti Kapoor (born: September 3, 1958) is a Bollywood actor. He is notably known for playing comic and villainous roles. He is known for acting alongside comedian Kader Khan in over 100 films.
Early life and background

Shakti Kapoor was born in Mumbai, India. He has appeared in more films than most actor or actress in the industry.

Career

Shakti Kapoor, since the start of his career in 1972 he has often been nominated for the Filmfare Award in the Best Comedian category and won once, for his performance in David Dhawan's film, Raja Babu. During his career, he was part of many successful films such as Aasha, Khiladi, Aankhen, Judwaa and many more. Nowadays, Shakti is a regular fixture in Priyadarshan films like Hungama, Hulchul, Chup Chup Ke and Malamaal Weekly and most recently malayalam remake Bhagam Bhag & Bhool Bhulaiya.

Personal life

Shakti Kapoor is married to Shivangi (Padmini Kolhapure's elder sister) and has two children, a son Siddhanth and a daughter Shraddha. Siddhanth Kapoor is a DJ (Disc Jockey) and also an assistant director. His daughter, Shraddha Kapoor is an actress.

Casting couch controversy

In March 2005, India TV released a video, allegedly showing Shakti Kapoor asking for ***ual favor from an undercover reporter posing as an aspiring actress, in return for entry into the film industry.



According to India TV, this was a sting operation to expose the phenomenon of casting couch prevalent in Bollywood. This incident sparked a controversy in Bollywood and Kapoor was banned by the Film & Television Producers Guild of India. Association of Indian Motion Pictures and TV Programme Producers decided not to ban him as no allegations against him were proven. One week later, however, the Film & Television Producers Guild lifted the ban.


Kapoor claimed that the video clip in question was doctored and he had been framed. He said that the undercover reporter met him several times and threatened to commit suicide if he did not come to the hotel room she had booked.

According to our source, "Varun Gandhi who made it to the headlines this year for making communal remarks at a public meeting during the election campaign, has been approached. Shakti Kapoor, item girl Poonam Jawhar and Aditya Pancholi are few other names who have been approached as inmates for the show".

If the buzz is to be believed, the channel and production house also had plans to rope in Vikas Goopta, Creative Head of Kis Desh and Kitani Mohabbat Hai who was recently in the news for conducting a large scale audition wherein girls and boys seeking roles for an upcoming show had to smooch in the open.

We called Shakti Kapoor, who accepted that he was approached for the show. "Yes, I have been approached. But the fact is that I am busy with movies, and with such a short notice it will be difficult for me to accept the show".

However, Vikas Goopta rubbished the news and said, "I have not been approached for Bigg Boss".

Our khabroo says that, "Going by last year's records of Rahul Mahajan, Varun Gandhi seems to be the perfect choice. But nothing has been finalized yet. As far as item girl Poonam Jawhar goes, she seems to be confident that she will finally make it to the house as on one of the inmates".

Our reliable source informs us, "Raju is almost finalized as one of the inmates to enter Bigg Boss house. The fact that Big B is hosting the show has enticed him to accept the offer".

We called up Raju Srivastav who says, "Yes, I have been offered the show. But nothing is finalized yet. But I will want to do it".

Raju Srivastav seems to be a perfect candidate for Bigg Boss, as we believe he will do everything to keep humor and laughter soaring high in the house..

With Amitabh Bachchan at the helm, Bigg Boss 3 can only get bigger. After roping in a big host, the channel and the production are eyeing big names as contestants. The buzz goes that big Bollywood celebs like Jackie Shroff and Manoj Bajpai are on Bigg Boss’ wish list. Sanjay Dutt’s wife Manyata too is said to have been offered the show.


As per sources, Shroff, Bajpai and Dutt have been made offers. The channel and the production are awaiting their response.


We tried contacting Jackie Shroff and event sent him a text message but

there was no reply. The show’s makers are keeping everything under wraps.


Of late, there have been rumours that Shroff is facing financial woes and his married life too is quite troubled. However, his wife Ayesha had rubbished reports of any trouble in their marriage. Some time back, it was also reported that the actor was depressed as he felt let down by those who he had helped during their trying times but they didn’t return the favour.


As for Bajpai, after giving early hits like Satya and Shool, the actor’s career hasn’t quite blossomed. Manyata Dutt has been sought by TV producers but thus far she’s snubbed most offers. Will she finally adhere to Bigg Boss? We’ll know in days to come.
