Abhishek 'Aaram Classes' is the engagement platform for the new show Bingo, which will be slowly being revealed to the nation.

Amitabh Bachchan will be the first guest of his son Abhishek Bachchan on the reality show called Bingo as an anchor. However, if Jr. B is to be believed, it is Big B who has been training the former for the show.
Amitabh Bachchan’s shoes who is renowned for hosting Kaun Banega Crorepati and lately Big Boss Season 3 has been all tips for son Abhishek. “My father being a great anchor had adviced me some tips to handle a game show.

Tip no.1: be good to your contestants.
Tip no. 2: Be and make them comfortable.
Tip no. 3: Always enjoy the game you are hosting,” concludes the actor.


When Abhishek asked about what he calls a tradition to host a show on small screen, he says, “Well, I am thrilled to continue following the tradition and you never know our coming generation too will keep up the same (laughs).

"If you are not going to compare me to him (Amitabh), whom are you going to compare me to? I have never had a problem being compared to him and, like I said, who doesn't want to be compared to Amitabh Bachchan? He is the best we have and the best that we ever will have. It's a matter of great honour for me," Abhishek told in an interview.

The 33-year-old has faced comparisons with his father ever since his Bollywood debut with "Refugee" a decade ago. Now he says he doesn't want to be weighed on the same scale.

"He (Amitabh) has been on TV and he created history on the medium. Do I hope to be able to outdo that? No, because that's not possible. Nobody is going to be a better actor than him, nobody is going to be able to make a bigger mark than him on Indian cinema and on world cinema and the same goes for TV. Do I have aspirations of outdoing him? No, I don't compete with my father," he said.

Abhishek, who will be seen hosting the show on entertainment channel Colors starting Jan 23, says such comparisons don't bog him down.

"You can't allow comparisons to deter you. You still have to do what you believe in. I am his son, I love him very much and I am his biggest fan. I want him to be around forever and I want him to be the best. I don't think any son competes with his father. In fact, they are very happy to stand behind and support their father - just as I do, and I am proud of that," he said.

The actor, who has shown his acting s****s in films like "Yuva", "Sarkar", "Guru", "Delhi-6" and "Paa", is excited about his newfound role as a TV show host. He says he made an instant decision to host "National Bingo Night", which will have celebrities as well as common people playing two fast-paced rounds of the popular game Bingo.

"When the concept was explained to me and when I saw the Australian version of the show, it was right there that I knew that it is something that I want to do. The fact that it was interactive and would give me an opportunity to interact with the common man was a major draw for me," said Abhishek.

The show will feature a line-up of celebrities like Farhan Akhtar, Deepika Padukone, Vidya Balan, Arshad Warsi and Kirron Kher, but the star attraction will be his father Amitabh, who will grace the opening episode.

"I have called dad just to make sure the show's TRPs are good," Abhishek remarked.

After shooting for "National Bingo Night", the actor says he will be back to his film schedules.

"I think one new thing in a year is good enough. I don't believe in taking on too much. After 'Bingo', I'll get back to my films as there are lots lined up," he said.

Abhishek is currently shooting for Abhinay Deo's "Crooked". He will also be seen in films like Ashutosh Gowariker's "Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey" and Mani Ratnam's much-awaited "Ravana", in which he will feature alongside wife Aishwarya Rai.

HOW TO PLAY Bingo Night

• For Tickets distributed by the Organizers (“Physical Tickets”) and Tickets downloaded and printed from the website (“Web Tickets”):
  The sheet contains 26 Game Tickets. Each Ticket is only applicable for the Game number specified on it. Every episode of the TV Game Show will have two games- a Yellow Ticket game and a Green Ticket game (“Game”). The host will announce the Game number and color of the Ticket to be played on at the beginning of each game. The home viewer (You) has to circle the numbers announced by the host that are taken out of the dome, if they appear on your Ticket. Do not poke a hole in the ticket, or scratch out or strike-through the numbers. The viewers shall play the Game based on the balls/numbers that are taken out and displayed on the television screen from time to time during that Game. Please circle the numbers using permanent ink, using a ball pen only.
• For Online Tickets: Login to the website www.colorstv.in/bingo and follow the instructions.
• For SMS Tickets (only for Idea Cellular subscribers):
  If you are an Idea Cellular subscriber and has received the virtual SMS Tickets from Idea Cellular, the Ticket display may differ according to the handset you use. To play Bingo, the numbers shown after the words “Row-1” should be written down on a piece of paper in a straight horizontal line. The numbers after the words “Row-2” should be written down on a horizontal line below the numbers of Row-1. The same process should be followed for Row-3, 4 and 5. The numbers should only be written in the order received in the SMS. Also the first number of Row-2 should come under the first number of Row-1 and the same logic should be applied to the rest of the numbers in each row. An illustration is as under:
