Drashti Dhami aka ‘Madhubala’ has once again outshone her s****s on screen. No, we aren’t talking about her histrionics, while playing that demure, love sick wife in ‘Madhubala’ for RK, we are talking about her performances and popularity on Jhalak Dikhla Jaa, which has won her the glittering trophy and a cash prize of rupees fifty lakh, along with her partner choreographer Salman Yusuff Khan tonight!

The dance reality, which spanned for fifteen weeks, entertaining masses with every enthralling dance performances, finally came to its bidding note tonight. To mark the grand finale were present, the esteemed celebrity judges Karan Johar, Remo Fernandes and Madhuri Dixit, while Hrithik Roshan and Priyanka Chopra also came in to shake a leg and promote their upcoming movie ‘Krrish 3’, which is slated for November release.
The show began amidst fans cheering, judges applauding and of course, the past contestants and winners making a bee line come back on stage with some sensational performances. Yes, ex Jhalak Dikhla Jaa winners Gurmeet Choudhary and Rashmi Desai created a huge uproar with their phenomenal performances, while Karan Wahi, last year’s host made his comic timing and presence felt with a foot tapping number.

The mood and theme was that of jubilance and celebration today. Even the anchors Kapil Sharma and Manish Paul were at their humorous best, pulling of stint of graduation ceremony and reigniting some fond memories of the show from the past.

The show marked its grand entry with the Fnal Four, namely Drashti, Shaan, Sonali and Lauren’s scintillating performances. While Drashti’s ‘Rangeela number went down well, Lauren looked a little slow. However, the punch factor was that by Shaan and Sonali, which made Hrithik Roshan come onto the stage and honor them both individually. Shaan did the mountain climbing part quite well in dance, while Sonali sizzled and sparked with her fast salsa number, which looked like a t****ze performance, but on ground.

I’m sure the audience can’t wait to see the next season starting, but as for now let’s rejoice and celebrate the success of the completion of the show and of course, the prime time actress’s, our very own Madhubala’s success with dance. From a non-dancer, what she claimed to be, she indeed has come a long way, and flown with flying colors. If not anybody else, I’m sure her RK would be happy to have her wife achieve something big in life, after him, of course!

Do write to us about today’s episode and how you feel about Drashti Dhami’s new found success.Share your Views, Reviews, Comments and Suggestions about this show

Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa is an Indian version of BBC's Strictly Come Dancing and ABC's Dancing with the Stars.

Sony Entertainment Television brings "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" with new celebrities and well known faces to perform with professional dance partners on a highly competitive stage. The show is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions in India.

The show's format is taken from the Strictly Come Dancing show on BBC One in UK, which has been a huge success in over 30 countries like America, Australia, New Zealand, and Italy where it is known as Dancing with the Stars. However the Indian version has been extensively remodelled as to appeal to the country's viewers.

The dances are typically more exuberant than on its sister programmes around the world, owing to India's unique Bollywood traditions. Also because of the strong Bollywood approach, India is the only country to not have live music with an in-house Big Band. The show is also pre-recorded unlike the UK's Strictly Come Dancing and other spin-offs. All the ballroom and latin dances are danced as bollywood themed showdances (US: freestyles) rather than with strict 'syllabus' ballroom or latin technique.

Drashti Dhami wins Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa Season 6

The much loved Madhubala - Drashti Dhami who started off as a non-dancer took the Jhalak trophy home tonight in a dazzling super finale of Jhalak Dikhhlaa Jaa Season 6.

The super finale of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa Season 6 was a dazzling affair with the dancing superstar Hrithik Roshan coming to encourage the final 4 contestants. Hritihk started with admitting being a Madhuri Dixit Nene fan.
The show started with Drashti Dhami and Salman Khan's performance. This was followed by the kid duo Sonali and Sumant who as usual stunned everybody. Shaan's performance was calm composed and Hrithi even sang a song for him. It was Shaan's favourite singer Kishore Kumar's number from Yaarana. Lauren as usual the poetry in motion girl gave a splendid performance and her day was made when Hrithik expressed his desire to work with Remo if he ever made ABCD part 2 and that he would want to share the frame with Lauren which Remo of course agreed to. All the contestants had the support of excellent special effects.

After Priyanka Chopra too joined in to promote her upcoming film Krrish 3 was Ali Asgar and Sunil Grover from Comedy Nights of Kapil playing Dadi and Gutthi who kept everyone in splits. Karan Wahi, Gurmeet Choudhary and Rashmi Desai Sandhu who were last year's contestants too came in to perform special numbers. While Remo gave a scintillating performance as a tribute to his favourite performer Michael Jackson, Madhuri danced with Hrithik on their special songs from their films. Even Karan Johar shook his leg with Lauren and Remo. Madhuri Dixit was supposed to perform a solo aerial number but had to give it a skip as she had to rush off mid-way to be with her father who was ill. Sonali and Lauren took over at the last minute and performed on the same number.

While it was a tough tie as all the final four contestants got a total 30 score for their final performance, the first to get eliminated was Shaan followed by Sonali & Sumant. The terrific dancer Lauren ended being the runner up and Drashti - the Madhubala from Madhubala - Ek Ishq, Ek Junoon on Colors won with the maximum votes and took the trophy home.
As soon as Drashti was announced the winner her best friend Sanaya Irani who had come to support her rushed up to her to hug her. Last year's child participant Darsheel Safary too was present to support Drashti.

Looking graceful in a black saree, Drashti collected the cheque of Rs. 50 lakhs along with her choreographer Salman Khan and gave a short thank you speech!

Congrats to Drashti and Salman!

The grandest night of Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 6 has just come. We have been waiting eagerly to see who will take home the JDJ 6 trophy back home. All the top 4 contestants Drashti and Salman, Lauren and Punit, Shaan and Marisha, Sonali – Sumanth have proved their mettle.

Talking about all four, let’s give you a glimpse of their life-
Drashti Dhami- Drashti is well known for her character Geet and now Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon. Having started her journey from dancing in albums and then as a bubbly character in Dil Mil Gaye, she has come a long way in her career. Her cute face and ultimate talent has won her accolades from critics and millions of fans all over the world. She is ruling daily soaps and according to many big celebrities like Ranbir Kapoor and Karan Johar she should be on big screen and not on small. She has won several awards for her outstanding performances in her serials.

Madhubala of small screen is also the queen of votes, her true fans love her so much that despite of getting less marks in middle of the season, she was running strong to be in the competition. Drashti is a hard worker and believes in what she does, her expressions and support from the choreographer Salman made her do some memorable performances. Since last few weeks, her dance forms are being loved by the judges and she is scoring high in the charts. Drashti has very good chances of winning this coveted title.

Lauren- America first saw Lauren take the stage on Season 3 of FOX Network’s hit reality series ‘So You Think You Can Dance’. Her love for dance and undeniable gift landed her a spot in the final six contestants. Lauren’s fearlessness and dedication to stepping outside her comfort zone to continue her growth as an artist was soon tested when she joined the cast as the lead female in India’s highly anticipated, first ever, 3D dance film, ‘Anybody Can Dance’ (popularly known as ABCD).

The film was a box office hit making it the first big hit of the year. Lauren spent 3 months learning Hindi, Bollywood techniques, and filming in Mumbai alongside Indian film stars Prabhudheva, Kay Menon, and Ganesh Acharya as well as stars from their hit dance show ‘Dance India Dance’, Salman Yusuff Khan and Dharmesh Yelande. Director Remo D’Souza was a fan of Lauren’s when she was on ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ and said he knew he would one day bring her to Bollywood.

From ‘So You Think You Can Dance,’ to multiple guest appearances on hit television shows, and now making her debut as the lead in a full length Bollywood feature film, Lauren Gottlieb has become a true international celebrity. Having got 30 more than 10 times on JDLJ 6, it will be fair to say that she has tremendous potential to win this trophy.

Shaan- Shaan aka Shantonu Mukharji is India’s most versatile singers who has sung in Hindi, Bengali, Urdu, and Kannada films and also hosted numerous television shows. He hosted the shows Sa Re Ga Ma Pa, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa L’il Champs, Star Voice of India and in Music Ka Maha Muqabla, his team, Shaan’s Strikers, finished as the runners up to Shankar Mahadevan’s team.

He has also sung many Pakistani songs. He is one of the frontline playback singers of the millennium. He is the most favorite choice of music directors and composers. He also started his career at a very young age of 17 years in year 1989 without any professional background. We never knew that Shaan has so much talent that with his hard work and dedication, he can make a mark for himself in dancing as well.

JDJ opened a new chapter in Shaan’s life. He was himself shocked and happy to know about this hidden talent in him. After many ups and downs, Shaan is standing tall to win this title. He deserves to be in the finals as he has completely transformed in to a good dancer from a non-dancer. Let’s see how well he performs on the D-Day.

Sonali-Sumanth- These two are the surprise package for the entire nation. They twist, turn, roll, jump and do what not to amaze us. Their jaw dropping performances have won so much love and blessings from all. They truly deserve a good chance of winning JDJ 6 trophy.

Sonali Majumdar at the tender age of 7 years amazed entire India when she performed in the finals with her partner Maraju Sumanth of 13 years of age in the finals of India’s Got Talent and in support got plenty of votes to make them winners of the title. Both had added another feather of achievement to their Salsa dance institute Bivash Academy of Dance, Kolkata.

A famous dance institute for Salsa who had produced several celebrities. Continuing the trend of picking a pair of kids for the dance show like Darsheel last year, this year Sonali Sumnath duo rocked Jhalak Dikhla Jaa and no wonder they can again amaze the world by their winning act.

Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 6 is heading to its grand star studded semi finale episode this week. To grace this occasion the show will have a filmy family with it. Ranbir Kapoor will be seen with his parents Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor promoting their upcoming flick ‘Besharam.’ Sounds lots of fun isn’t it?

Not only them baap of all Kapoor’s, Mr. Anil Kapoor will also be coming in the semi final episode to make some noise for his first TV production ’24.’ He will promote his upcoming action thriller show which will be aired on Colors.

Now, let me tell you what all happened when so many stars came down on the sets of your favorite show. The fiery chemistry between Anil and Madhuri rekindled when they danced on their hot numbers like ‘dhak dhak’ ‘Koyal si teri boli‘ and ‘Kehdo ki tum meri ho warna‘. Both of them sizzled on the sets and crowd went crazy with their awesome moves.

On the other hand, the Kapoor family also shook a leg or two with the judges. They were all here to boost the confidence of the Top 5 contestants who are trying every bit to win the Jhalak Trophy. Ranbir Kapoor has visited Jhalak sets twice in this season. He was here to promote his film ‘Yeh Jawani hai Deewani’ which ultimately was the highest grosser of 2013. We hope ‘Besharam’ also repeats history.

Ace actor Irrfan Khan too made a small appearance to promote his film ‘The Lunchbox.’ This movie is an official entry for Toronto Film Fest this year.
The Top 5 contestants who will battle against each other are – Lauren Gottlieb, Shaan, Mukti Mohan, Sonali and Sumanth and Drashti Dhami. Though speculations are that Mukti has already been eliminated from the semifinals and the final race will be between the other four. But nothing can be confirmed until we watch the episode this weekend.

Lauren is a very strong contender of the title as she has got maximum marks and has proved that she can swing on any dance form very well, be it desi or videshi, Lauren has always won our hearts! Small wonders- Sonali and Sumanth are tough nut to crack. They are fastest and brightest of them all. Mukti is super talented who tries to show something different every time she is on the dance floor.

Shaan has dedicated fan followers who want him to win at any cost. If he wins, Jhalak will continue its tradition of making non-dancer win JDJ trophies. Last but not the least, Drashti Dhami has the strongest choreographer and biggest pool of voters who love her unconditionally. She can be a huge threat to the contestant who reaches finale with her.

Everyone is coming up with unique dance ideas to woo the judges and audiences to come closer to the winning moment. You can chat about your favorite show Jhalak by joining our chat room at iCouch. Chat room opens every Saturday & Sunday at 9pm.

Well, I am extremely excited for this weekend bonanza. I am sure you must be too! Let us know who you support by commenting here. Also share your Views, Reviews, Comments and Suggestions about this show on __________________
