Abhinav Shukla is definitely one of the most adventurous guys you can find in the television industry. The actor, who is presently seen in Star Plus' Ek Hazaaron Mein Meri Behna Hain, will soon be seen on the channels' upcoming creepy and exploratory reality show, Survivor India-The Ultimate Battle. Though Abhinav went all prepared, he got one of the biggest shocks and was revealed to one of the greatest secrets of the game-show.

Abhinav says, "The greatest shock for me was the first vote out. I was under the impression that the weak contestants would be voted out first. But what happened was completely opposite and it came as a shocker when I got voted out. But I do not think I missed a lot because of this and I got to understand what goes on in a game show."

Though Abhinav got eliminated soon, he had his personal benefits as we hear that he celebrated his Birthday on the shore with his friends.

Abhinav Shukla eats, breathes and lives adventure. The handsome hunk, who rose to fame with the negative character Dev in Geet Hui Sabse Parayi, is all set to impress his fans in his stint in Survivor. The reality series will hit the screens tonight (6 January 2012) at 9 pm on Star Plus.

Abhinav is a nature-loving person and can blend with it easily, but in the show he found it difficult to get along with other contestants. However, he loved being part of the show, and has learnt important lessons on life from it.

“It was difficult to stay in an unknown island without food or any kind of luxury. But the tough situations taught me an important lesson,” says Abhinav.

And what exactly is he talking about? “Since childhood, I have been hearing the phrase “mind over matter.” But only after being in Survivor, I have realized its real meaning and importance. With positive thinking and right frame of mind, one can deal with any situation in life.”

Furthermore, he goes on to share an anecdote with his fans. “In the show, food was limited. So one day I was too hungry. I am a vegetarian. But I saw a crab crawling by, and I had the urge to eat it up. But then mind prevailed over matter and I controlled my sudden pang.”

Well, the show has certainly made him more enlightened. Way to go, Abhinav!!

Survivor India contestants rough it up right on Day 1 (06-01-2012)

The 22 celebrities on STAR Plus’ mega reality show Survivor India got a nasty welcome into the jungle. While they were on their way their boat overturned mid-sea and weak swimmers like Payal Rohatgi and Shilpa Agnihotri were shaken with fear so badly that it took them a while to come back to normal. While this was just the entry, the contestants had no idea what more would be in store for them. After the fearsome marooning, on the very first day, Jamnadas Majethia (JD) broke down as he missed his family. He said that his wife’s constant complaint was that he never told her that he loved her. Making no further delay, he declared his love for his wife on national television.


While there was declaration of love going on, the tribes had to end their first day without fire and go hungry. As if hunger was not enough, the darkness in the jungle made it even worse for everyone. While few managed to find way to their camps, few chose to give up and spent the night all cramped up in their little make-shift shelter.

Survivor India premieres tomorrow on STAR Plus at 2100 hrs.

Abhinav Shukla to bring the Survivor experience live in Mumbai tomorrow (06-01-2012)

Abhinav Shukla will attempt to survive an entire day without the basic essentials for life at a shack created in the Inorbit mall, Malad tomorrow. Many known faces and participants of Survivor India like Payal Rohatgi, Priyanka Bassi, Karan Patel, JD Majethia, etc. will be seen performing various show related challenges at the mall in order to help Abhinav win his basic necessities. The shack will be built in the true spirit and feel of the Survivor Challenge with a thatched roof and a wooden structure - it will be a true representation of the reality game show. Mall-goers will be encouraged to participate in a few challenges all day at the venue.


Meanwhile Delhi will see participants from the show at various hotspots in their survivor look. While Payal Rohatgi will be seen snatching clothes from women’s section at a mall, hungry Rajesh Khera will be seen eating from other people’s plates in restaurants!
