Clock-in/out time recording through intranet

Require some expert inputs on how the clock-in/out times of employees can be recorded through the corporate intranet.
And once they are captured,

how and where are they maintained in SAP.

You can manage your requirements with standard CATS (Cross Application Time Sheets) solution by SAP for ESS.

Once data tranfered to HR it can be processed using Time Evaluation.

In CATS we can record the number of hours.

But I would like to know how can we capture the actual start and end times.

start and end time can be entered in CATS. you can also set a workflow if you require a approval process.

CATS regular can be set on web for employees to enter their own working time.
