Default Dravid, Dhoni put India on Top against Sri Lanka in Ahemedabad Test

Ahmedabad: Breaking News! Mr. Dependable Rahul Dravid, Yuvraj Singh and skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni put India on top in the first test match against Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad. At stumps, India are 385/6, with Rahul Dravid and Harbhajan Singh remained unbeaten at the crease. Dravid and Dhoni hit centuries. Rahul Dravid hit his 27th test century and is batting on 177. He also completed 11,000 runs in test cricket in his 135th match.


Earlier, India won the toss and elected to bat first. But Indian top order failed miserably to the Sri Lankan bowling attack. India were 32/4 in 7.4 overs, as Sehwag, Gambhir, Sachin and Laxman departed early. Dravid and Yuvraj added 125 runs for the fifth wicket. Yuvraj made 68.

After Yuvraj's departure, Dravid and Dhoni played superbly and added 224 runs for the sixth wicket. Dhoni was out for 110 off 159 balls. Dhoni hit his second test century and completed 2,000 runs in test cricket.

Dravid remained unbeaten on 177 off 259 balls. Dravid became the fifth batsman in test history to complete 11,000 runs. For Sri Lanka, Welegedara took 3 wickets, while D Prasad took 2 wickets
