@ 10. Mahi Ve - Kaante

Malaika as we all know by now had perfected the art of item numbers. And Mahi Ve was yet another feather in her cap. In a movie that had only men and guns, Malaika and the pole she danced with made for an intersting watch. The song just enhanced the visual treat!

9. Mayya Mayya - Guru

AR Rahman and Mani Ratnam again. And again a huge success. In an otherwise serious film, the song stood out as the only 'fun' factor. And as you can see from the picture, even the actors had some fun in the song.

8. Babuji Zara Dheere Chalo - Dum

Dum was a forgettable flick. What wasn't was the song featuring Yana Gupta. Rustic, Racy and raunchy it had all the ingredients to make it the perfect item number. And needless to say, it was an instant success! Even the bull which Yana rode in the song got famous!

7. UP Bihar Lootne - Shool

Many of us did not admit in those days that we liked the song. But trust me, it was not just the auto rickshaw drivers who were hooked to Shilpa Shetty">Shilpa Shetty's hip thrusts in this song from Shool. We all were closet hummers of this very number. Extremely rural, extremely raunchy but a lot of fun, this song had to be on our list of all time favourite item numbers!
