Wild Card Entry in X Factor 2010
Today, Gamu Nhengu was in hiding at the flat in Scotland she shares with her mum Nokuthula as awaits her X Factor fate and hopes that she will be offered a wildcard lifeline. X Factor fans were left furious after Katie Waissel was chosen to go through to the live stages of the show at the expense of Gamu, 18, who was the favourite. The Mail spoke to her mother at the private residence today who said Gamu was 'around but she doesn't know if she can speak to anyone'. ITV then called Gamu to let her know she could speak to reporters but she declined to do any interviews today. The modest flat is home to Gamu, her mother, and her two brothers Milton, 12, and Marty, 10, who moved to Scotland from Zimbabwe eight years ago. Next week's show is expected to reveal that X Factor head honcho Simon Cowell will allow each judge a FOURTH choice to go through to the live shows. At the weekend meanwhile, while Gamu was note perfect, her rival Waissel appeared to forget the words to Charlie Chaplin's Smile. She then broke down in tears, before being allowed to start again in her performance before judge Cheryl Cole and her close friend, Black Eyed Pea Will.I.Am.
