Default Fashion Trail: Sarees are a big hit

When everyone in town is going about to events, the safest bet is to stick to the Indian code of fashion sense - the ever beautiful saree.

Aditi Gupta: The Kis Des Mein…girl has decided to wear a two-toned saree with a halter neck silver blouse to match the trimming on her saree pallu. There is a star-burst effect of sequin work on her saree which enhances the appeal of the d**** but she could have chosen a more vibrant two-tone colour for the occasion. The very dull beige on the lower half of the saree is pulling it down. Despite her co-ordination, she does not stand out in this creation.

Aditi Shirwekar: The last time we saw her was on Star Vivah, after which she has taken a hiatus from our screens. But to return to the limelight like this seems to be a catastrophe. Not only is she dressed in the most basic navy-blue saree this side of the screen, you can actually she her belly popping out of the sheer fabric and it’s not a very good sight for sore eyes. Her jhumkas are nice, and complement her bangles, but her choice of colour for the saree leaves much to be desired.

Krishna Gokani: The Hamari Devrani star is out in excess – can you even look at that saree and not gasp for breath? We understand that the pallu is heavily embroidered but why did she have to choose a saree with a heavy pallu and bandhini print together! The saree does nothing to accentuate her figure, only makes her look gaudier. She should tone down on the heavy choker jewelry too.

Lata Sabarwal: She’s the Yeh Rishta woman we adore. Here in a Gujarati d**** doing ample justice to the zardozi border, she is the image of a regal woman, as she is in the show. A little less gold would be a great idea to off-set her pallor. She looks decked, although she is not wearing any heavy-chunky jewelry, it’s the gold work on her saree that gives her the ‘too rich on the eyes’ look.

Madhura Naik: She’s the Kis Des Main…babe who made it to Pyaar Impossible in her film debut. She's wearing an interesting combination of blouse-and saree. To offset the blue saree, the red blouse is a striking accompaniment, but she did not have to team it with a heavy necklace when the saree itself is so detailed in its embroidery work. The biscuit brown folds within the saree give it a dramatic statement.
