Despite of grabbing good TRP's some programmes couldn't last long. Take a look at a couple of Popular TV shows that went off air

Santaan Serial on STAR Plus
This show was launched in October 2007 on STAR Plus. This show was prime time family drama, which revolved around the Dixit family of Kanpur. The show went on quiet nicely for a year by giving decent TRP's but later on the viewership deteriorated due to which it was pulled off air this March.

Kumkum - Pyara Sa Bandhan on STAR Plus
Was an Indian television soap opera that aired from Monday to Friday during the afternoon slot on STAR Plus. This show remained number one in the afternoon slot and went off air because the makers were not able to tackle the new track of Hussain and Juhi Parmar. As their story was based on re-birth they lost the in battle of TRP’s and so this 8-year long serial went off air.

Kitni Mohabbat Hai on NDTV Imagine
This Ekta Kapoor show on NDTV Imagine went off on 25th September,09. The show was a romantic saga of Arjun and Arohi.The show got good response in the beginning because of its freshness but later on it turned out to be the typical rona dhona sorts and so the channel and makers mutually decided to wind up the show on a happy note.

Virrudh on Sony TV
This show was Smriti Irani’s first production serial. This serial was the story of Vasudha and her life struggle. This show was critically acclaimed but couldn't gain popularity with the masses. The story line up was unique but the audiences could not digest Smriti Irani as the young girl Vasudha as compared to her ideal bahu image of Tulsi, so the show went off air suddenly.

Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki on STAR Plus This show gave name and fame to Saakshi Tanwar as Parvati Agrawal. It ran for 8 long years and was number 2 show on STAR Plus in their prime time slot. However with the number of generation leaps taking place in the show, the audiences found it difficult to relate to it and this made the serial plummet with the lowest TRP's. At the same Saakshi was busy with Ekta’s show Mahabharat and so the show went off air.
