Tiger Shroff's Baaghi 2 beats Padmaavat to become the biggest opener of 2018

Padmaavat is no match for Baaghi 2!

Tiger Shroff has gone bigger. Anybody who thought two mistakes previously, will retard his pace in the industry, Baaghi 2 must have silenced them. The film’s first day collections are so big that it has left the combined weight of Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor behind. Yes, Baaghi 2 has earned Rs 25.10 crore on day 1 while Padmaavat had made Rs 24 crore. In fact, those were the combined scores of previews and first day numbers. The actual day 1 numbers of Padmaavat were Rs 19 crore. (Also read: Baaghi 2 box office collection day 1: Tiger Shroff’s film gets a BLOCKBUSTER opening, earns Rs 25.10 crore)

Padmaavat had a lot of things riding in its favour. It released on the Republic Day weekend i.e. on January 25. It already saw good trending at previews on January 24 and earned Rs 5 crore. Buoyed by tremendous curiosity about Rani Padmini and jauhar plus the many controversies around it, the film saw amazing numbers on the first day. In fact, all this while nobody could beat those numbers. Ranveer’s villainy, Deepika’s fierceness and Shahid’s resilience made Padmaavat a blockbuster. Sanjay Leela Bhansali obviously was the key here because he has a distinct knack of coming up with amazing period dramas.

But Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 2 defeated them all. The first day collection itself is Rs 25.10 crore and it will only fly from here. Check out the recent numbers here once again…

Baaghi 2 might just break some more records in the coming days.
