Star Plus presents a contemporary, engaging story... Navya. Portraying young Indians' constant tussle to balance tradition and modernity this beautiful story captures TV screens starting 4th April at 10pm.

STAR Plus launches new show Navya

Presenting a nayi soch, STAR Plus brings to its viewers a fresh and contemporary story mirroring modern India. A very realistic narrative of two ordinary families from UP settled in the city of Mumbai, the show presents a relatable picture of the young generation of today, who constantly struggle to keep pace with a modern world while trying to stay deeply rooted in Indian values. Star Plus presents the sensitive, modern narrative NAVYA, starting 4th April, 10.00pm.

Navya symbolises the new young generation of India. A 19-year old college goer, she is an extremely identifiable and average girl-next-door, who is confused about her life like a lot of young India is. Navya naturally balances modernity & traditionalism in her day-to-day life without even consciously thinking about it. Like most youngsters today, Navya has middle class parents, who constantly struggle between being parents and friends to their children. Navya has to follow rules at home – she cannot sleep over at her friends’ place, she has to return home before 7pm, she cannot be seen talking to boys and she cannot wear jeans. Her friends enjoy better freedom at home - one of them also has a boyfriend and Navya secretly wishes for one who would do mushy things for her, yet she is happy in her own world. As luck would have it, Navya falls in love with Anant, a boy hailing from a traditional and conservative family. Over time, the story beautifully captures Navya and Anant’s journey of love and their trials and tribulations in trying to stay uniquely Indian and yet moving ahead with the times.

Commenting on the show, Mr. Vivek Bahl, Executive Creative Director, Star India says: "Navya is a bold, new show from Star Plus, subtly yet sincerely taking ahead the channel's Rishta Wahi, Soch Nayi philosophy in the true spirit. Seemingly a young show, the show is much more than what appears on the surface. It reaches out to parents & youngsters alike in contemporary India & really aims to serve as a dialogue between old and new India."

Co-Produced by STAR Plus’ Vivek Bahl and Vikas Seth & Siddharth Kumar Tiwary of Swastik Pictures, Navya has newcomers Soumya Seth and Shaheer Sheikh essaying the lead roles besides a great ensemble cast supporting the show. In a first of its kind innovation on television, Star Plus and Times Music have come up with a peppy upbeat musical single ‘Bekaaboo’- specially composed for Navya. Composed by ace music composer duo Vishal & Shekhar, penned by Anvita Dutt and sung by Shilpa Rao, Bekaaboo is an inspiring music track that captures the questions, uncertainties, excitement of today’s youth in love. The song ‘Bekaaboo’ is now playing on all multimedia platforms and gaining popularity with many youngsters across the country.

Tune-in to the delightful journey of Navya, starting April 4th, Monday – Friday, 10 PM only on STAR Plus!
