In 2008 Khan made his debut on the small screen with the game show, Dus Ka Dum based on the international show The Power of 10. The show was aired on Sony. It is the production of Siddhartha Basu and Synergy Labs, the makers of ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ and ‘Paanchvi Paas Se Tez. Salman Khan was seen bonding very closely with the participants. Unlike other shows like KBC and Paanchvi Paas Se Tez, Dus ka Dum is not a quiz. Salman Khan gets Rs 80 lakh for each show of 10 Ka Dum. (G****vine has it that he wanted exactly what Shah Rukh got for KBC.)

Everyone is talking of Akshay Kumar as the new king of Bollywood after the success of the numerologically-spelt Singh is Kinng. But he may have claimed that throne even earlier. The actor made Rs 1.5 crore for anchoring each episode of Khatron Ke Khiladi, the reality show based on the international hit Fear Factor. That is thrice what Amitabh Bachchan, who Kumar regards as the only king of Bollywood, earned for an episode of Kaun Banega Crorepati's first season, the game show that turned around the fortunes of Star Plus eight years ago.
According to industry estimates, Kumar's show cost Colors Rs 2.5 crores an episode. The show had 16 episodes and was shot in South Africa with models and television stars doing some hard-to-digest stunts.

Shilpa Shetty, who achieved only moderate success in Bollywood but hit the big time by winning Big Brother in the UK, is earning Rs 80 lakh for anchoring each episode of Big Brother's Indian sibling, Bigg Boss, on Colors. Started August 17, 2008, Shetty is hosting the second season of Bigg Boss, the Indian version of Big Brother. Controversially, Jade Goody was one of the initial housemates. Goody left the Bigg Boss House early in the series after receiving news that she had cervical cancer.

Though a well-known name with classes, Indian Idol made her a familiar name among masses. As the friendly and warm host of the show, Mini won many hearts. With her witty, charming & caring attitude towards the young participants in Indian Idol, When Sony launched music talent show Indian Idol in 2005, it is said to have paid model Mini Mathur Rs 40,000-50,000 each episode.
