The upcoming episode of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa (Sony Fri-Sat at 9pm) will be a Latin American dance special. And unlike last week when the men impressed, it was the women’s performances that blew the judges away this time.
A source present at the shoot says, “This week, it was the girls who got the highest marks. Everyone was a little nervous as they had to do Latin American dance styles. Gauhar Khan and her choreographer Hanif Hilal, who have previously been in the news for all the wrong reasons, were the highest scorers of the night. In fact, Gauhar’s performance was so commendable that she became the first girl to score the maximum points of 30.”
Elaborating on the best routines, the source adds, “Gauhar’s performance was really nice. She danced to
Marjaavan from
Fashion. The second best performer of the evening was Shilpa Shukla, who performed on
Zinda Hoon Main. All the judges liked her routine and Saroj Khan even gave her and her choreographer 100 rupees as a shagun for doing well.”
Shilpa’s last performance was a disaster that left the judges criticising her moves. She tried to combine folk dancing with a Western tune, leaving her the lowest scorer and was even in the danger zone with Bhagyashree, who was eliminated.
As for the male performances, the source says, “Amongst the men, Karan’s performance was good once again but both Anand Raj Anand’s and Mohinder Amarnath’s performance did not go too well.”
After Ugesh Sarcar’s and Bhagyashree’s elimination, there are now ten contestants remaining on
Jhalak. This Saturday, the show will air its third elimination. After the ten participants perform, there will be a faceoff between the lowest scorer and the contestant with the lowest votes.
