The gen-next star of Bollywood Arjun Kapoor, who started his work as an assistant director with Shah Rukh Khan’s Kal Ho Naa Ho, made his big acting debut in 2012 with Ishaqzaade. The film went on to become a box office success and Arjun was nominated for the Filmfare Best Debut award for his portrayal of Parma Chauhan. Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar
In Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Arjun plays the character of a 30-year-old police officer, who is a part of Delhi Police’s special unit. The plot of the film revolves around Arjun’s character – Satinder Dahiya, who wants a promotion so that he can play a crucial part in making the law enforcement agency more responsible. The film is directed by Dibakar Banerjee and also features Parineeti Chopra in the lead role. It is set to hit the screens on August 3.
Namastey England
Post Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar, Parineeti and Arjun will again collaborate for Vipul Shah’s Namastey England. The lighthearted romantic comedy is reported to be the sequel of Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif’s Namastey London. The film is scheduled to release during the Dussehra weekend at the box office.
Panipat
Arjun Kapoor will step in the genre of period war drama with Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat. The film is based on the historical battle of Panipat. Arjun will play the part of Sadashivrao Bhau (commander-in-chief of Maratha Army), while Sanjay Dutt will essay the role of Ahmad Shah Durrani (Shah of Durrani Empire), who emerged victorious in the third battle of Panipat. Actress Kriti Sanon will play the role of Sadashivrao’s second wife Parvatibai. The magnum opus is slated to release on December 6, 2019.
